Another?

How long is everyone planning on staying at their reception?  My wedding is starting at 5:30 p.m and after wards we will have to drive three hours to Atlanta to catch the plane in the morning for our honeymoon.  I want to enjoy the reception but I want us to be careful and not to be to tired driving for THREE HOURS!   I also don't want to leave to late because the venue is also about an hour away for everyone to drive themselves, and I don't want everyone to leave before us. lol

Our ceremony starts at 5:30 and our venue kicks us (B&G) out at around 9:15 so the party can start winding down by the time our rental ends at 10. If people start leaving early, and/or I'm so exhausted I just want to get to the hotel, we might leave earlier than that, but I'm not counting on it.

Can you wait to decide how long you'll stay at the reception? Maybe you can just decide then, and gauge how tired you are and how the party is going to figure out when to leave.

I went to a wedding last weekend where they were in the same predicament. Just a word to the wise- stay longer than 35 minutes. That's all they stayed and I thought it was incredibly rude. They cut the big cake, cut the grooms cake, toasted, took a couple pics with key people, and they were out! We drove 2 and a half hours to be at their wedding and we didn't even get to talk to them. I understand not wanting to be super late driving and stuff, but just consider that everyone is there to see YOU and give them that chance :)

My ceremony is at 4:00, and we are leaving the venue around 8:30 (that's when the "grand exit" is scheduled for).  We are going to our apartment that night and sleeping before getting up to drive 8.5 hours to Disney World the next morning.

Okay I think will try to have an ideal time when we will leave just because we have to drive THAT night, but not be sticked on it. We don't have a time that we have to leave we can stay until one in the morning if we wanted. Our venue is so awesome, plus we don't have any rentals to worry about getting back. And I can't believe someone would only want to stay thirty minutes! Hick no! I want to enjoy my reception and everyone there! I would never do that! And TWO HOURS! CRAZY FOLKS! lol

I'm thinking 10:00 I hope most people will stay for us to leave. Thanks for your thoughts!
