Reception Venues in the River Valley

Hello all! I want to start off by saying hello to all my fellow Arkansas brides! My wedding date is May 1st, 2010. We are currently looking for a place to have our reception. We are having our ceremony at Mt. Nebo State Park. I've looked at a few places to have the reception, but either because of financial reasons or other reasons they haven't worked out. I'm looking for somewhere were we can have alcohol, that is big enough for at least 150 people and under 500 dollars. If any one knows of any place that might seem like a perfect fit, please just let me know. i'm new to this area, moved here from california about a year ago, so i don't know too many places. Thank you!

Does Nebo not have a reception hall? I've been to a few weddings up there and everyone has always just used the hall they have there. In Russellville, the Holiday Inn has a nice banquet room. We had my graduation party there for when I graduated from Tech, and it worked quite nicely. Lake Dardanelle State Park Visitor's Center has a lovely banquet room, it overlooks Lake Dardanelle. Really though, my suggestion would be to use the reception hall at Nebo, otherwise your guests are going to have to drive a while to get to the reception. Unfortunately, the Russellville/Dardanelle area is kind of devoid of party space. *lol* GL!

see, the problem we were having was he didn't want to have the wedding and reception in the same place. i figured since I'm picking out most of the stuff for the wedding and a lot of my "dreams" are being fulfilled, i decided that i would compromise on this and have the reception in a separate the location.  The holiday inn was way too small for our size reception, but we ended up finding a place at a country club in the area. we haven't booked it yet, but we both love it!

I have checked the parks and recreations webpage for fort smith. the riverfront park I think allows alchol and the price is resonalbel.I am thinking of havin our reception there .$50 deposit, $50 for 4 hours ...the deposit is refundable. You should contact the Fort smith parks and recreation dept. and soon to see what they have and if they can accomadate. Also there are local hotels that should have venues for receptions for that large of a guest list.I have a friend who runs the wedding chapel here in fort smith.i can ask her and see if she knows of any that can accomadate a large crowd on short notice.
