HELP SAVE A LOCAL WEDDING VENUE: CREEKWOOD GARDENS

There is a wedding venue in Rogers, Arkansas that needs our help!  CREEKWOOD GARDENS (http://www.creekwoodgardens.com/)  The owner Lisa Rose started with a dream of owning her own wedding venue in order to help brides have that special day they have always dreamed.  She is currently living that dream with Creekwood Gardens located in Rogers, Arkansas.  However, the city of Rogers has denied her renewal for her 2011 permit and not only is her dream and livlihood in danger, but there are 12 brides (including me) who could lose their wedding venue and would have to start the planning all over again!  This is very disheartening for a number of reasons and a loss to the community of Rogers.

A local news reporter did a story on Lisa and her fight for Creekwood Gardens.  Here is the link to view the video:

The city council will meet this Tuesday, October 26th to determine the renewal.  If you live in the Rogers area and can support Lisa, please attend the meeting.  I believe it starts at 7:30.

If you live out of state, like me, then Lisa has started a petition that you can sign in support of her cause.   www.petition.co.uk/say-i-do-to-creekwood-gardens" target="_blank" fa38d=", event);">http://www.petition.co.uk/say-i-do-to-creekwood-gardens

The reason this is important to me, as you all know in planning a wedding, is that the venue is one of the most important pieces in the wedding process.  I was born & raised in Arkansas up until a few years ago but now I currently reside in PA, but no matter what, I still consider Arkansas my home.  I knew that I would return there to get married in the area that I love so much.  It is difficult to try to plan a wedding from so far away and when we met Lisa and saw how beautiful Creekwood Gardens is, we knew that this was the place for us!  She has been wonderful in the planning process so far and a huge sigh of relief on the stress side of the wedding.  If the permit is denied, then I would have to find an entirely new venue, hope that I can still have the same date, and also hope that my photographer & hotel can still accomodate the changes.  The other sad part to this, in my opinion, is that there are almost 100 of our guests that have never visited Arkansas and they all wonder why I love it so much (other than the Razorbacks of course).  I have been so excited ever since I got engaged to plan the wedding but to also share in the beauty and wonder there is in NWA.  As you can tell, this means a lot to me and is weighing heavy on my mind.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy planning to read this post.  If you choose to sign the petition, I personally appreciate it and I know that the other 11 brides and Lisa appreciate it too.  THANK YOU!!!
