River Club vs Via Vecchia

These two venues are totally different and we cannot decide between the two.

When we at the River Club it was our first venue we looked at and we left there feeling that it was not for us. But as we looked at other venues we fell more in love with the River club, because of the amazing view!!! We liked that the bar was per hour cost and the food was not a bad price.

Via Vecchia we are unsure about, I talked to Michael on the phone and I loved him but then when we went to see it, they were setting up for an event and there was stuff everywhere. Also we met with his wife, who was a little off and it was distracting and she had no information for us. We talked to Scott from the catering company and he made me fall back in love with him. I really liked how unique the space was but i feel like the river club will be more rememberable.

If anyonew has any information (good or bad) about the two places to help us decide. Thanks :)

I looked at Via Vecchia as well.  I am very type-A and I felt like they weren't sure about a lot of things.  I also didn't like that they had a rental (1000 or 2000?) that didn't go toward the food or drinks.  It is a very unique space though, and could end up being really neat, but it just wasn't for us.

i went to a wedding last summer at the Rivera Club and it was beautiful.  The windows add so much natural light and then you can see the Columbus skyline over the river.  great food, good service.  The couple who got married were huge Buckeye fans and all about Columbus (where they met) so it was really fitting for their personalities.

    Good luck!

My fiance' and I checked out both during out search.  Unfortunately the River club ended up being booked on the date we really wanted.  We also toured Via Vecchia and I really liked Michael when we spoke with him.  He invited us to see the winery and gave us a complementary tasting which was really good.  Its a really unique venue and in a neat part of downtown.  A few things that made me nervous was that they really hadn't done a lot of weddings prior to this year.  Also, the winery seemed to be in the early stages of renovation being and old building and it was really difficult for me to envision all that Michael said that they were going to change (not to mention I wondered if the long list was going to be done by our date)  Also, we were looking for an October wedding and right next door they hold a haunted house.  Hearing noises of screams and chain saws didn't really put us in the wedding/romantic mood.  In my opinion in a year or so with time for renovations and not in the month of October it would be a really cool place to a reception.  Wine was really good!  I'm sure it will great no matter the decision though...good luck!
