Don't know what else to do...wedding 11.24.12

Dresses...check (with the exception of being altered), colors...check, BM & GM...check, flower girl and ring bearer...check. Haven't decided on a caterer yet, expecting 50-60 people. Having an outdoor/back yard ceremony, and then we're decorating our huge garage for the reception. My future MIL is decorating and is amazing at it. I have a bakery and florist in mind, but still haven't got with them. I also have an officant, but worried that FI's family won't recognize the wedding because they are catholic.

[QUOTE]Well, if your wedding is less than a month away, I'd book a caterer ASAP and get with the florist and baker. Our cake had to be ordered 3 months in advance, and we ordered our flowers 8 weeks out even just to order them wholesale to arrange ourselves. As far as the officiant goes, is your FI a practicing Catholic? If HE is worried about the Church, then you guys need to address that. He won't be able to receive sacraments unless you marriage is recognized by the Catholic Church. However, you are both, I assume, adults, so whether or not his family "recognizes" the marriage shouldn't really matter. If he's old enough to get married, he's old enough to tell his family his beliefs are not the same as theirs and ask that they respect that.

He is not a praticing catholic, and majority of his family isnt't either, its just those that are hard core catholic is what I'm concerned about, but thanks for making the point that we are both adults. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /> Our local grocery store has an amazing bakery that did our son's first birthday cake, and I believe you just have to give a week or so notice! Flowers are the same. I've been looking into caterers, just at a loss, because his parents are willing to pay, he's just sort of shy to ask. lol!
