We didn't have an engagement party.

We had ours last November. My parents hosted it at our house (because ours is bigger). My parents got catering from PUFFS, and we had a keg (we have a kegerator), soda, water and big bottles of wine. We had our families come at 3pm. Then my coworkers, our wedding party and a few other friends came at 5pm. It kinda worked out haha....it was alot of people and an exhausting afternoon and evening. The downside was that having all those people there made it hard to talk to everyone. I was so upset that there were certain people that I greeted when they came, but I didn't talk to them after that. So my advice would be to have a smaller e-party so you can talk to everyone. Oh, and we didn't really have a theme. We blew up pics from our engagement at Longwood, and I put together collages of me & FI as kids, and we got wedding-ish paper products.Sorry so long....HTH!
