Candy Buffet Girls

Where did you girls get your candy?  I just spent the last hour looking for candy, and Im not having much luck with reasonable candy...  I find a few for $4-5 a pound, but most are $7-9...  And 100 pounds later, thats $700.  I cant spend that!  Did anyone get it locally?  About how much per pound?  Any suggestions would be great - Im trying to stay under $5 a pound...  I am willing to drive if necessary...I already have all the bowls & containers, but if I cant find reasonable candy to fill them, Im going to have to nix it :(

Steph, let me get in contact with someone who did a color coordinated candy buffet, and see where she got her candy.  She told me a while back about what she had and all, but not where she got her candy.  I do know that on candy alone, she spent over $1,000, and she said she did not have that many different types of candy.  Just a heads up.  I will email her, and let you know what she says.Ultimately, if you can't find the candy in your colors, I wouldn't nix it per se, but I would do regular candy as well.  Honestly, as much as it would be nice to have it all in one color, no one is really going to look at the colors when they are popping them in their mouths.  Not only that, but you can have so many different kinds if you do just regular.  Consider doing that before you nix the whole idea- I have a couple ways of tying the colors in, with decorations and such, that I can send to you if you do regular.  Then it will look lovely, taste awesome, and everyone will be happy!

There used to be a Harry Kenyon's in WIlmington that sold bulk candy but I think they are in a warehouse now.  I'm looking for the number.Ok.Harry Kenyon Inc.259 Quigley Blvd.  Suite 1New Castle, DE 19720302-762-7776I know they used to have a space in the city of wilmington and I used to walk there during my lunch break to get some candy.  they moved their warehouse to new castle.  I tried called them a few years ago to get some wax lips (family joke) but they didn't have any.  it's worth a shot, and they are local so you might be able to go there to pick it up rather than having stuff shipped.

Steph we did color coordinated candy for our wedding and our colors were purple and green. I used candywarehouse.com and did really well there. I purchased 9 different kinds and whirly lollipops for $200 and that included shipping! Did you check their pricing out? I found it very difficult to color coordinate candy color by going to a local shop.
