Ok, ladies. So my dress came in a few weeks ago, and I went to try it on right away and pay down the balance. I wasn't sure if I was going to be getting alterations done at the shop or not, so I made an appointment for a fitting and left the dress at the shop. Turns out my mom's friend's daughter is a seamstress, and is happy to do my alterations (at a much lower rate!!), so last night I went to the bridal shop and picked up my dress since I will be having it altered elsewhere.
After I got the dress home, naturally I took it out so my mom and I could look at it. Now my dress is heavily beaded with crystals and pearls, and I did end up paying more for it than what I wanted to for a dress (but it was THE dress, lol). I noticed that there were a bunch of crystals that were already loose, which I understand can happen during shipping and whatnot. However, I also noticed that there were pearls that were on one small part of the bodice and not on the other, and there were a few crystals that were missing rhinestones.
I mentioned this to my mom last night, and she said that there are so many other crystals and pearls on the dress that you can't even notice the missing pearls and whatnot. Fast forward to this morning, and she tells me she thinks I should call the bridal shop and try to get them to fix it. I wouldn't have a problem doing this, but the shop isn't exactly close to my house, and every time I go there, I need to wait for at least half an hour before someone can help me (40 min wait just to pick up my dress that was already paid for - ugh). It would be another 2 trips to get it fixed.
On the one hand, part of me is saying that I shouldn't be so nitpicky, especially since there are so many other beads and pearls on the dress. Anyone else looking at the dress wouldn't notice. I could easily get my mom's seamstress friend to fix the pearls and loose crystals for a low rate. On the other hand, another part of me is remembering how much I paid for the dress, and that I should get the shop to fix it. What do you ladies think?
