Plus size bride

Does anyone know of any good stores (besides davids bridal) if your a plus size bride? I went to some in PA and the sample sizes didn't fit me.  I'm planning on trying Simons in Dover. I called and they said they have some larger sample sizes.  Has anyone had a good experience there or anywhere else? Thanks!!

hi there. I went to simons last June and they had an ok selection. Bridal and tuxedo shoppe in astro shopping center has plus size gowns, and so does Alfred angelo in lncasrer. I went to AA in Lancaster and got my gown. I'm plus sized as well and was happy with their selection.

Hi there!  Welcome to the DE board- tell us a little bit about yourself!  We love to help new brides out, but we also love hearing about their story!I am a plus size bride as well (size 18 and proud of it!)- I also recommend Alfred Angelo for plus sizes.  They don't charge extra for plus sizes, which is nice.  There is an AA store in Lancaster, as Lura mentioned, and they have lots of samples in larger sizes.Also, I highly encourage you to check out Brides and Grooms in Newark (by the hospital).  They don't have "larger sizes" in samples, but they have the ability to get larger sizes in many designers, including AA.  When I decided on AA, I tried my dress on at the store in Lancaster, but ordered from Brides and Grooms- their pricing is sooo much better, and they price match!  Their service is awesome, and I know there are many other brides on here that who have been extremely happy with them as well.  My suggestion would be to go to Brides and Grooms and the actual Alfred Angelo store.  Not only is Brides and Grooms cheaper, but they also do wonderful things for your self esteem.  I didn't fit in the samples either, but they told me to "stand up tall because I was beautiful and getting married, and I should be proud of that", which did wonders that day.Hope that Helps, and if you need any help at all, including questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to ask!!  And again, welcome!!!

Hi Ms. BriarRose!!! I actually live in Lancaster and have gone to the AA store here with no luck.  I have lots of family and friends in DE so I was going to take a trip down.  Did you try Simons at all? Or know of any plus size girls that did? Is it worth going too?????

I have known several people who have tried Simon's for other things (mainly prom dresses, MOB dresses, and bridesmaids dresses).  No one for bridal gowns, though.I can tell you though- every person I have talked to who has gone to Simon's says it is extremely overpriced, and they were able to find their exact same dress at another store for much cheaper (some found it before they purchased from Simon's, while others were not so lucky).Hope that helps!
