I need a place to hold my wedding and reception

Hi, I am new to this. I just got engaged 10/16/2009 and we have decided on a small wedding of only 30-40 guests and it is to be held on 11/20/2010. I want to have the wedding and reception at the same place. Something small with sqaure tables seating only 4 at each. Somewhere maybe with a fireplace or picture windows to see the outdoor fall colors. I have the dress and colors picked. I will be wearing a not so fru fru dress - it is actually a brieds maid separates dress in butter from alfred angelo and Jay will be wearing a brown suit. We are decorating in fall colors. I want a dark forest/hunter green "carpet" to walk down. My daughter and his daughter will be the flower girls and will drop fall colored leaves rather than rose petals and we are not having a bridal party. Our girls will stand on either side of us during the ceremony and will light the unity candle with us to unite our family. My dad will walk me down the isle to Patty Labelle's song "If you only knew" and Jay and I will dance our first dance to "Forever my love" by Levert. We have so many things decided on but not the place to get married. Please let me know if you have any ideas of a place for us. Thank you so much and congrats and good luck to everyone else here on this board! Melissa

Hey Melissa Congrats on your engagement! Welcome to the DE board :) I just wanted to say, your wedding vision sounds lovely... Very romantic and intimate. Would you consider a restaurant to have your wedding? With the size of your wedding, you may have a hard time finding a "wedding venue" that doesnt hold you to the revenue minimums many do. Maybe a place like Six Paupers - I know they have a seperate room for events, although Im not sure how many people it holds... Im sure the other ladies can come up with a few more locations for you & your fiance to take a look at. GL with your planning!

Hi  and Welcome!  Congrats on your wedding!  Just so you know, the board gets more traffic during the work week, so you might keep that in mind for future posts :)Hands down, I HIGHLY recommend The Stone Barn in Kennett, PA.  They pretty much have everything you are looking for- huge, awesome stone fireplace, square tables, intimate feeling, great food, decent pricing.  It had wood floors, but if you are truly set on the green carpet, you could always try and do a runner.  FI and I went to a wedding there on October 2, and it was wonderful.  There were only about 60-70 people there, and probably a good thing there wasn't more, because it isn't designed for larger weddings.  The food was FANTASTIC- one of the best I have had!  I know it's not over the top expensive, as I know the couple did not have much to spend and still managed to have a buffet with fish, chicken, and beef.  If you change your mind and decide to have an outdoor ceremony, you can also do that here- they have a wonderful garden setting that reminds you of a fairy garden!  And since it's set in the "country", on quite a few acres, there are no cars whizzing by or others coming in that you don't know (like could happen with a restaurant), and there are many, many picture opps.If you are interested in seeing it, I highly suggest you drive up to see it on the weekends- they do weekend/Sunday brunches for the public, and not only would it give you a chance to see it, but to also try the food.  I have a few pics from the wedding, and if you would like to see them, I can try sending you the album from facebook-just let me know.
