Help choosing a song

Hey girls,   I am at a loss and need some help, figured i would turn to the wedding experts on this one :-). Instead of the traditional Father/Daughter dance i am going to be having a Grandfather/Granddaughter dance and I have been searching all over the internet for suggestions on a good song that isn't super super sappy and doesnt have the word daughter in either the title or lyrics. I would also prefer something a bit older that he might be familiar with or more comfortable with. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions they can throw out there? TIA!

I don't know what style of music you enjoy, but I recommend looking/listening to Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Otis Reading, Andrea Bocelli or Michael Buble. They have fun, slower songs that aren't too sappy or romantic. I don't have any song titles off the top of my head because my brain is shot after a long day of work. Maybe I'll have some tomorrow lol.

Check out the oldies by Nat King Cole and the other oldie-but-goodie songwriters and singers.  Have you asked him what some of his favorite songs/singers are?  Maybe he loves a certain one that would work wonderfully for the dance, and would be a great tribute to him. Also, you might look into the country section- alot of country singers have songs that deal with "Grandpa".  I can't name any off the top of my head, because whenever I hear them I have to change the station- I always cry really hard when I hear them because they remind me of my grandpa, who died a year and a half ago.  My younger sister and I are still dealing with it, because he was such an integral part of our lives. If I may make another suggestion, and that's to write him a heartfelt letter, and either give it to him before the big day (like at the rehearsal dinner), or after the dance.  I only say this because I wish I had the chance to tell Grandpa all the things I wanted to, and I wouldn't want you to miss out on that.Good luck, I hope you find a song that fits perfectly!

How about, "The Way you Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra

Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong would be perfect for this! That's what my husband danced with his mom to, because they also didn't want something sappy.  Good luck :-)
