Engagement Pic Suggestions

So a friend of FI has offered to do our engagement pics for free!!!  (and yes, she is a pro).  Even though we arent getting married until 2013, being that we are newly engaged...and they are engagement pics after all, I figure its ok to start thinking about them.  I want to do them in late spring/summer but I'm not quite sure where.  Any suggestions for places in the Delaware County, PA/Wilmington Area?  Of course I've been thinking Longwood Gardens, and Ridley Creek State Park.....but I feel like those are so over done.  I definetely want something different.  FI and I are both into fishing, but I plan on having "Mess the Dress" photos taking of us surf fishing in SIC after the wedding so I dont want toinclude that just yet.  I know there have got to be some great places I just dont know about....and you ladies always give great suggestions.  Thanks!

I know it's a little out of the way, but Turkey Point, Md would be gorgeous. It'll still give you the water backdrop so you could tie all of your pictures together. (water themes)

MBR had some great suggestions for me as well... If you search 'engagement pictures' in the search engine one this board, it'll come up with her post.

It really depends on your thoughts for a backdrop. We're sticking around our neighborhood for some of them, where we have a gorgeous covered bridge, then taking a twenty minute drive down to Turkey Point to get the rest of them done. Then, when we go up to Pittsburgh to visit his family, we'll be getting a few done in front of Heinz field w/ our jersey's on. :)

We did our wedding pictures at Valley Garden Park.  I know it's popular for engagement shots as well.

We just had ours done in Philadelphia, also a little bit of a drive from where you may be, but so many beautiful places to take pictures.

We started at Penn's campus for the old buildings and mini-LOVE sign, and then made our way to the Art Museum steps! So much fun! Enjoy!  Keep in mind, the backdrop is not the most important thing - it's the happy couple that matters most - so all your pics will be amazing, no matter where you take them!

There are a couple of places I would suggest.

Like Dibs said, Valley Garden Park has some great places in the park.  If you are willing to go into Philly, there is Love Park (though you do have to deal with other people there), as well as Philly Magic Garden (where we are doing our TTD session).  If you want to stay around here, you can check out Carousel Park (which does have the horses and the stables and such, and makes for decent pics) as well as Glasgow Park (which has the big playground, which would make for some fun pics).  The other place that I would highly suggest looking at is doing it at the Wilmington River Front, on the River Walk.  It's such a different location, and the pics are really awesome.

If none of those work, let us know so we can think some more.

I plan on taking some wedding day pics at Battery Park in New Castle. It's along the river in Old New Castle, and absolutely beautiful.  I'd wait until late spring, though.
