Please suggest a florist

Hello, 

I met with a florist in Wilmington, De and I like her ideas however I think it's pretty pricey. Can somebody give me other suggestions for florists so that I can compare prices? I'm getting married at the Hotel Dupont in Sept.

A lot of ladies here use Belak's.  I actually went with Celebrations Design Group.  They have 2 offices... one in Claymont (that's their warehouse) and one in Crum Lynne (their business office).  One of my coworkers actually recommended them.  They came in under budget for me, which I was really surprised about because I wanted some flowers that I know can be pricey (sterling roses, stargazers, and freesia)

Because they are a design group and not a florist, they don't have a big overhead charge.  I worked with Donna... and she was fabulous.

I used Belak's.  While I wasn't wowed by the flowers, I don't have any reason to complain about them either.  And Barb is really nice to work with.

I used Le Sentier (Dominique Ho).  She's the in-house florist for my venue, but I think they operate as a separate business too.  Dominique was great and the flowers were gorgeous.

I second Sweet Peas. I'm not using them because I'm DIY-ing mine, but they were very responsive and I've seen their work- it's gorgeous.

try DiBiaso's in wilmington. it's a small place & they're so helpful with working with your budget. also they don't over charge per stem. I'm getting my bouquet for $95 from them where other florists wanted to charge me a whopping $125+ for the same stuff

You could always try Ron Eastburn's Flower Shop. Ron doesn't charge for a consultation and just because you meet with him doesn't mean you have to go with him. Plus he's really accomodating, meaning he'll take all the time you need during the consultation, and showing you samples of what flowers would look good together based on their size/shape/color.

He is also very receptive to brides bringing in pictures of what they want (I have heard some horror stories about florists getting upset about that).

I used Belak's, as did Tonysgurl (an older Knottie), and MiguelHilary did too.

I loved my flowers.  For what I wanted, she came in at a great price (we had a ton of personal flowers).  She was excellent to work with.  My flowers were gorgeous, exactly what I wanted (and I had some pricey ones, like stargazers, stephanotis, lisianthus...), and lasted not only through the entire night, but for over a week.  Not one of the arrangements had any issues with it.  She worked with me to get exactly what I wanted- and that included the many phone calls I made to her over the several months beforehand.
