The candy is bought and stored away!!!
We got the following:
Tootsie Rolls (chocolate) (12 lbs)
Reese's Minis (7 lbs)
Gummy Bears (10 lbs)
Caramel Cremes (15 lbs)
Twizzlers (2- 180 ct containers)
Peppermint puffs (2 containers)
MMs (4 bags; 12 lbs)
Pretzel MMs (2 bags; 7 lbs)
Peanut MMs (4 lbs; 12 lbs)
York Peppermint Patties (2 boxes; 10 lbs)
Swedish Fish (2 bags; 6 lbs)
Skittles (3 bags; 8 lbs)
Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Mix (3 bags, 9 lbs)
After pricing out Philly, BJs, and Costco, we got all the candy at BJs (New Castle location). Costco did not have nearly the selection, and what they both had was comparable in price to each other. This was a present to FI and I from my stepmom and dad; he had budgeted 400-500 dollars or more; we managed to get all the candy for less than $350 (and as you can tell, we bought ALOT of candy- the ppl in BJs were giving us weird looks at the cart, and even the cashier was like WTF mate?!). Combine that with the maybe $50 that we spent on glassware and other accessories, that puts us under $400 for a candy buffet for 140 ppl.
We still need to get Sour Patch Kids (our favorite candy) and Smarties (FFIL's favorite candy). Luckily, though, we have Halloween right around the corner and Walmart sells 2lbs of SPK for $4

My dad also got sized for his tux at Brides and Grooms today, and paided for the two tuxes he is covering. FYI for those who are interested in the remodeling project they are doing, they said it should be done in less than 2 weeks. The store is going to be MASSIVE compared to what it was!
Once again, if anyone would like to see my pricing sheet, feel free to let me know and I will send it to you. Overall, we nixed Mike and Ikes, Jelly Beans, Lemonheads, Goldenberg Peanut Chews (so sad about this one, but I can't find them anywhere...if you know where, let me know PLEASE!), Andes Mints (too expensive and pretty much the same thing as York patties), Starbursts, Good and Plentys (another one I wouldn't mind having, if you can tell me where to get it!), and chocolate covered pretzels (tho not really, since we got the Pretzel MMs). We went with regular MMs over Kisses.
