I have a gift check and a clothing check, but need help with other gifts!
My clothing check is my RD dress! Marshall's had all their summery dresses out; I got this one and another, 20 bucks each. It's soooo cute, and looks awesome on me!
The one gift check I have is for our RB. Devin is Autistic (FYI April is Autism Awareness Month!), and LOVES Trains, specifically Thomas the Tank (those of us who work with kids with Autism joke that loving Thomas needs to be on the diagnostic tests for boys, b/c most go crazy for him!). We wanted to get him Thomas stuff for his gift, but pretty much everything that is on his level, he has. We were going nuts trying to figure out what to get him.
Well, I went to Burlington Coat Factory today with a friend to browse (FYI, they have a TON of dresses that would work for flower girl dresses, all on sale!). In the toy aisle there, I found Mega Bloks...in the shapes of Thomas the Tank and his friends! I got him Thomas (the blue train), Percy (the green train), and James (the red train). The first two came just as themselves, but James came in a play set. The nice part is not only will these hold his attention, they will also help with his fine motor skills. All for $20!! We will probably get him a book or some stickers and that be it. Now, if I could just find a train for him to carry the rings down on, instead of a pillow (we want a larger one, so guests can tell its a train...)
Now, I have to figure out the rest of my party.
We figured for the flower girl, a little white purse, some fancy hair dodads, little white gloves and some small items (probably in Dora or other kids character) would be good; Burlington has the purse and gloves, and Claire's at the Concord mall has the other items.
For my girls, we have been picking up stationary stuff along the way; both my sisters love little notepads to put in their purses, any type of post its, notecards to mail, etc. I also have a Life Is Good mug for my older sister (all her mugs are old, cracked, and she drinks a ton of tea, so I got her a nice mug). I also got them the PocketBacs from Bath and Body Works (like Purell, with the little holders and all).
For FI's Best Maid, we got her really pretty notecards (from Marshall's, of all places) and some of the PocketBacs.
Other than that, I don't know what to get them. I want to get them items that are useful, but want them to be different. I also don't want to do the usual items, either; none of them need bags, etc. I really need help on this one; FI has lumped his Best Maid in with my girls for gifts, since he doesn't know much at all about it!
I think we have the guys figured out; one is really into Harley Davidson (he loves his MC), and the other is really into outdoors (backpacking, hiking, etc- I think we will end up getting Life is Good stuff and items from EMS). Anyone have suggestions on where to get Harley stuff?
Finally, are you all getting parents gifts, and if so, are you giving them at the RD? My mom says no, but I think my dad and his parents will expect them. Ugh.
