Florist prices?

I'm looking at different florists in the Wilmington area (Belak's, Yukie, and Breger were recommend in my previous post. Thanks ladies!). I'm going to meet with my venue's in house florist, and I want something to compare their prices to, since I'm not set on them doing my personal flowers.

I'm a little over an hour away, so it's not easy to meet with everyone. I tried calling to get some averge prices, but they're not very willing to give them out because it's so specific to what flowers you get.

Would anybody be willing to tell me what they paid for their personal flowers? I'm looking for prices for their bouquet, BM bouquets, corsages for the moms, and bouts for the boys. TIA!

I don't know exact prices on each individual item, but I can tell you what I got and the total price for it all.  Hopefully that helps!

    1 Brides Bouquet
    1 Groom Bout
    2 BM bouquets
    1 Best Maid wristlet
    2 GM bouts
    1 RB bout
    2 mother clutches (little bouquets)
    2 father bouts
    2 grandfather bouts
    2 grandmother corsage
    1 usher/nephew bout
    4 niece simple corsages
    1 stepmother simple corsage
    1 reader corsage
    2 honorary bridesmaids simple corsage
    1 throwaway bouquet

    We used the following flowers:
    Stargazer lillies
    Stephanotis (just bride and groom)
    White daisies with green centers
    White gerbera daisies
    green lisianthus
    Blue Delphinium
    white spray roses
    baby's breath
white filler (the type of flower called filler, not just random flowers thrown in)
    green hypericum (berries)
and something else I can't remember for the life of me

We got all that for under $800 from Belak's.  We were able to use the same flowers or something very similar (we used white daisies and green hydrengea, etc) for our centerpieces, so our flowers coordinate very well.

In terms of service, I LOVED Belak's.  Barb is by far my favorite vendor that I have worked with so far.  She listened to me.  We sat for 3 hours, going through her books, and talking about what I wanted.  What I brought in was not what I ended up with at all.  She is very aware; she noticed I kept going back to this photo that had green and white flowers.  I told her I liked it, but it didn't fit my color scheme.  She told me that I didn't have to have matchy-matchy flowers, and that different colored flowers actually can look good as accents.  I asked her if we could play around, replacing flowers in this green and white bouquet with other flowers.  I told her my favorite flowers (stargazers and stephanotis), and we worked until we got what we have now.  In fact, she suggested reserving the stephanotis for just FI and I, since it is a favorite flower.  We did just that.  It actually worked out well in terms of colors; my favorite color is pink, his is green, but neither of us wanted the other person's favorite as a wedding color, which is why we have blue.  Now we get our favorite colors!

The other thing Barb is good at is details.  My RB is autistic, and we were worried about him possibly hurting himself with the pin and eating the real flowers.  She suggested doing fake (which looked exactly the same as real; she showed us the two), and doing a magnetic button instead of a pin.  She also listens really well; my stepmom is actually my dad's GF (been together for 12 years), and my mom can't stand her at all.  I asked Barb if she needed any flowers, and Barb said yes, if she is going to be in pics.  She then turned to my om and said I understand, but you don't want the pics to look off.  She understands her brides.  And cares about them too- Steph (Tonysgurl) used her for her sept 09 wedding. Not only did her flowers look AMAZING, Barb also sent her a gift as well.

I suggest at least checking her out.  I think she will greatly impress you.

Also, another suggestion totally off from the rest of this post.  If you are possibly interested in silk flowers, look into The Little Flower.  CeCe did MrsLura's flowers, and they turned out FANTASTIC.  They were so pretty.  Not to mention VERY affordable- I think she spent around $300 on her flowers!

I just used Balak's for my wedding last month.  I don't have the price breakdown right in front of me, but my estimates are:

$180 Bride bouquet (calla, orchid, stephonotis, etc.)
    $75 BMs
$12 Bouts (callas, most of mine were free because of "deals" she offers)
$0 Toss bouquet (another free "deal")
$140/ea centerpieces (tall vase, crystals, l.e.d. lights, hydrangea, ostrich feathers)

    BM, BM, Bride bouquet

    Groom's bout

    Moms' corsage

    Pomanders on shepherd's hooks

I'll look at my pricing list when I get home and update if I was waaaaay off base.

Here's what we got from Belak's:

Bride Bouquet (ivory hydrangea, lavendar roses, stephanotis)..........$170
BM Bouquet (5) (ivory hydrangea, lavendar roses, purple lisianthus)..........$325
    FG Rose Petals..........$25
Mom Wrist Corsage (1)(lavendar roses, stephanotis)..........$35
Groom boutineer (lavendar roses, stephanotis)..........no charge
    GM(5), dad (1), RB boutineer (lavendar roses)..........$84
    Dad (1) boutineer (lavendar carnation)..........$8
    Blessed mother rose..........$12.50
Altar arrangements (2) (white snapdragons, lavendar carnations, purple lisianthus, white stock, white poms)..........$200
All will be mixed with foliage & gold seeded eucalyptus.

Plus $30 delivery to two locations.

All in all, that should be about $890.  Plus, I put a deposit down the day of my consultation so my bouquet is actually upgraded to one that would normally cost $190.
