What do you still need to do?

Hey ladies,

I frequent the DIY board since I am a big DIY-er (gotta save money!!)

But I am a DE bride getting married in Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, MD. I know there a couple bride-to-be's with the October 2nd date  :)

With about 5 weeks to go, what do you ladies still have to do?
My list is so long, I am unsure on if I can get it all done!

Order the favors (caramel apples so they don't need to be ordered until the 15th of September)
Finish the centerpieces
Order flowers (DIY-ing all of em)
Make card box (working on that this weekend)
Finish aisle runner (need another coat of red)
Hem FI's suit (well take it somewhere to get it done)
Buy jewelry for MOH and flower girls
Make up coloring books and crayons for flower girls
Make up rehearsal dinner menu's (anyone have any templates I could go off of?)
Finish pomander balls (I don't think this is happening)
Get groomsman gift (flyers tickets)
Pearl bracelet for myself (can anyone make me one?)
Get FI's ring engraved
Get seating chart done
Pick out songs for DJ!!!!!!

and I am sure there is a ton more, but just can't think right now!!

HAHAHA!! I've been trying to get him to help since day one  Laughing  all he has done was tie ribbons on the save the dates.

Truthfully, I don't even care if the stuff does not get done! This is my second wedding and his first, but I know what is important and what is not!

I've been pretty good about pacing myself, but there are things that can only be done at the last minute.  Like escort cards.  I can't tell people where they're sitting, until I everyone that is coming, so that I can arrange the tables.  So those will have to wait.

Also, I've been ready to get going on the programs, except we don't have a confirmation on who one of our readers will be.  FI wants to ask his best female friend from college, but she never calls him back.  He's called her multiple times and sent her an email telling her to call him but still no response.  I'm kind of annoyed because if she can't even call you back, why do you want her reading at our wedding.  She didn't even RSVP for my shower, at all and hasn't RSVP'd to the wedding yet (although the deadline hasn't passed yet)!  But I'm keeping my mouth shut.  I'll let him come to that decision himself.  So until that's decided, I can't print the programs out.

My two sisters are going to come down to the new house next weekend for a night.  We can hopefully work on the programs and part of the escort cards (they're going to be tied to rally towels which we can work on folding and tying).  Time permitting, we can assemble boxes!

No kidding about the girl from college! That's nice of you to let him decide. If it were me I would've told him absolutely not! lol.    I see what you mean about the things you have to do last minute. You will get it all done :)  It will probably all be a blur but it will get done lol

Originally, he kind of hinted that he wanted her to be a bridesmaid.  First bridezilla moment, no way was I letting that happen.  They used to date waaaaay back like for a moment in college (like 10+ years ago) and he considers her a really close friend still.  I've only even met her like three times when we've met up for dinner.  So when it came to the readings, he said all along her wanted her to do one.  I chose my close friend from college to do the other reading.  I keep nudging him that I need to know if she's doing it so I can get the programs printed.  He's told me he's called and emailed several times over the past couple weeks with no response.

He's asked for very little with the wedding and I'd never want to tell him I don't want her.  But I'm secretly hoping he comes to that decision on his own!

Well good luck with that!! I would give him a deadline though! You don't want to spring it on someone at the last minute if she can't do it (which hopefully she can't).

Wicked.. thanks for the heads up about the light! It is a day time wedding so the light will definitely be there!

As for counting on my bridesmaids...well that becomes a problem. I only have a MOH and she has been NO help whats so ever. I can only call on the little bit of family I have for certan projects.. With the wedding being 5 weeks away, doesn't even look like I am having a shower or bach-party... Thats how messed up my MOH is. But oh well.. thats a vent for another day!
