Clearly you want someone else to plan. Be my guest.

Just fyi, we didnt decide on anything! lol You had said previously on the fb group page that your MOH would be in town and would like to plan it for the weekend of 14th or the 15th and thats what we were going off of. Sorry if it seemed like we HAD to do it on a weekend or that particular date! Were open to anything! :D

I voted for Friday because I thought that was the day Sarah's MOH was in town, but after looking at the calendar, I think it might be Saturday. Cancel out one Friday vote and add a Saturday!

Sarah, are you also taking suggestions on WHERE? I think we should try to pick a place (like Applebee's or some other restaurant) where people can eat dinner and grab a drink if they want to.

AshLW... we went to applebees last night! it was perfect, not busy at all and it was perfect to accomodate large groups. Then if anyone wanted to eat or drink they could, but are not obligated to! we got seated right before 7 and got to order the 1/2 price apps and drinks so we all just shared and saved money! :D

I love these g2g's. I've been to 2 so far and have had a great time at both. They are a great opportunity to meet each other and I already feel like I'm connecting with people who I can make a long term friendship with, even after this "wedding planning" phase of my life is over. I feel like both settings I've attended so far (Starbucks and Applebees) have been totally appropriate and very welcoming for the group. Thanks to everyone who has come and I hope we can see more of the Knotties in the future!! It's a good time!

    To the original post.......

Sorry, but I did hear you say at the November g2g (at least twice that I remember hearing) that you were "sick of planning the g2g's and wanted someone else to take the lead." Sorry things changed, they didn't change for the bad, it ws just an adjustment.

As far as scheduling, any day of the week is GREAT for me, I thought we were just trying to accomodate your plans for January...that is the only reason those dates were initially discussed. After all, we didn't even have a date scheduled for the December g2g before you started suggesting dates for January. I'm excited to meet your MOH, I hope the scheduling for the group works out and we're able to do that.

Maybe we should have a different Knottie take the lead every g2g so everyone gets an opportunity to practice their event planning skills? Maybe that will help resolve the issue of accomodating different people's schedules and locations--that way, maybe we can hit different groups of people and everyone gets the chance to be involved.

We do multiple polls. We choose a day then date then place, time etc. one thing at a time. Just like we always have

Second THIS, all of it. I'm not a huge fan of the "because we've always it done it that way" method so I like Allie's idea of rotating whoever takes the lead on planning. Plus it gives everyone some experience planning (goodness knows we all need it for weddings, babies, birthday parties.... life) and there can be some more variety for the gtgs that would let everyone feel included.

Wow, whoa. I just recently started paying attention to this forum and the first g2g talk I saw was back in November. I didn't realize that you have a very specific plan of how these things are organized.

Also to the original post...why are you having a conpition fit about people wanting to share the responsibilty of planning these gtg's? I understand you have put them together for the first 2 or 3, but why do you assume you're the only one who can do it and then have a fit when people make suggestions for a different way of doing it? I just don't get why you're acting this way and acting as if you're the group leader and one in charge of everything. We're a very open group here and everyone's opinions should be respected and taken into consideration, even if you don't like it. We're all adults here..let's try and act like it.
