Day of Make up

Who is everyone using for make up the day of? Is the make up artist coming to you or you going to them? Also, are consultations generally free or is there a charge?

I have a consultation @ Dylan Michael's which is free, but one of the MAC artists charges for hers...wanted to get a consenses so, I know what to look for

    I used a friend who happens to work for MAC and does weddings on the side.  I paid for my trial, and she did come to us on the day of.  I think if you get a free trial, that's great!

    I used Cindy of Dylan Michael and she rocked - highly recommend.  Make up lasted all day & night no problems.

    She came to the hotel day of, but I drove to her for the trial which is free.

    I used Gloss Salon.  They will come where ever you want them to, but I actually went to their salon (we could only get in my reception place 1 hour prior adn that is not enough time to get ready).   I didn't go for a makeup trial (as they did my brothers wedding two years before so I knew how they were) but I did go for two hair trials, which I did pay for.  I loved both my hair and makeup on my wedding day.

    Just checked out Gloss' website, def. going to contact them... any artist in particular I should ask for?

    Jon is their makeup artist.  I know Kristen Lober does makeup, but she doesnt' work for them...but she often works with them (like independant contractor).  Jon is very sweet (and cute to boot!).  You can check out my pro-photos to see how he does...

    I used Kristen Lober for my b-pics and TTD session. You can find her on Facebook. And I used Cindy from Dylan Michael Cosmetics for my Wedding Day. I highly recommend both!
