    My name is:
    Brittany

    Wedding date:
    October 2, 2010 (3 WEEKS!!!!)

    Venue:
Executive Banquet and Conference Center (Newark, DE)

    My dress is:
something I originally thought was ugly and told the saleslady to put back!  It's from Alfred Angelo's Dream in Color line; it's style 1141 (google it, it's not on the website anymore) with Cobalt Blue ribbon and train.  When I first looked up gowns in this line, I thought it was hideous because it had everything I didn't want- sleeves, sweetheart neckline, lace.  When we went up, I told the lady I wanted to try on the gowns in this line, but when she pulled this gown, I told her I didn't like it at all.  She put it in the dressing room anyway.  I tried on my top pick first, and it looked horrible on me.  My mom told me to try my dress on next, to make room in the cramped dressing room.  I put it on...and refused to take it off for the next hour!  They even had me modeling veils for others, because I was glowing and smiling so much.
Now that I have had it fitted and have lost weight, it fits even better than when it was bought and came in!  It is MY dress!

    I bought it from:
Brides and Grooms (Newark, DE), but tried it on and picked it out at Alfred Angelo (Lancaster, PA).  AA in Lancaster had all the dresses in all sizes, but I had heard things not so great about their service, so we decided to not buy from them, just to try on.  Good thing, too- Brides and Grooms ended up being $130 less than the sale price ($280 less than the regular price!) that Alfred Angelo wanted!

I'm most excited about my dress because:
It has that WOW factor.  When I tell people that I have a Cobalt Blue Train, people say "oh that's ni...wait, what?"  I have always loved that WOW factor in my dresses- that one thing that most people have not seen, and jaws drop because of it.
I also am just so excited for it because of what it means, what it represents.  I am getting married to the love of my life!

    Comments:
I am just so excited about my dress.  Many people have told me color in wedding gowns is ugly or ridiculous, but I was never one to follow trends.  And while the dress isn't as pretty in the pictures (hence me thinking it was ugly), it's gorgeous on, and works wonders with my body type.  I do have pictures in my bio, but they are from over a year ago, before losing weight/alterations.  I have new pictures, but haven't uploaded them from my mom's camera yet- I will soon, promise!

    My name is: Leslie
    Wedding date: October 1, 2011
    Venue: Hartefeld National
My dress is: Martina Liana, not yet released!
I bought it from: J Majors in Charlotte, NC
I'm most excited about my dress because: It's classic, simple, elegant, and flattering to my body.  It's strapless, trumpet, raw silk, with a sweetheart neck. I'm petite, but it elongates me and accentuates my curves.  I bought a sash cut from the same dress to wrap around my waist for the ceremony, and a blingy, sparkly sash/belt for the reception.  It's completely different than what I *thought* I wanted (lace, straps, A-line) but I'm so in love!  Sadly, this was purchased at a trunk show and it was the new line, so I couldn't take photos - and can't find it online until it's released.  I'll stalk the web site between now and my first fitting :)
Comments: Try on dresses you don't think you'd like - you've heard it time and time again, but it's TRUE. Of all the magazine clippings and pictures I printed off the internet to bring to the salon for ideas, my dress is nothing like any of them. :):):)

    My name is: Gina

    Wedding date: July 2, 2011

Venue: Clarion Belle Hotel in New Castle

My dress is: The ultimate mermaid dress... and exactly what I said I didn't want.  I said I wasn't going to buy a strapless dress with a lot of beading, and it's a strapless dress with a lo tof beading.  But it's the dress.

I bought it from: The Bridal and Tuxedo Shoppe in Newark

I'm most excited about my dress because: I had an idea in mind of what I wanted... and even though it's strapless and has a lot of beading detail...it's EXACTLY what I wanted!!  Also, even though there's a lot of detail... it's easy enough to alter.  There is no beading along the bottom, and there is a seam that is free from all beading.... so my FMIL can alter it for me! (she's a seamstress)

Comments: Know what you want..but have an open mind.  And don't forget to eat beforehand.  And if you do forget to eat beforehand, make sure your MOH is awesome and always keeps granola bars in her purse!  hahaha
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

    My name is: Lura
    Wedding date: it was 10/11/09
    Venue: The Farmhouse
    My dress is: Alfred Angelo
I bought it from: Alfred Angelo in Lancaster
I'm most excited about my dress because: after 6 months of trying to find a gown, I finally tried this one on and loved it.  However, to this day, I wish I had gone with another gown that was at Davids Bridal (i think it flattered my plus size figure better)
Comments: I'm a whopping 5'1'', so I had to order a petite gown, and it's a good thing I did as there was so much lace and beading on the bottom that it couldn't be hemmed.
