venue reservation help

I've wanted to get MArried In the Julia Davis Rose Garden since I was 10. Now I'm engaged, and we've set our date. July 10th, 2010. BUT Boise Parks and recreation wont let me reserve the park until February 1st, 2010. That's cutting it REALLY close. They have to let the community plan events and THEN they'll allow private events to be booked. But I have to wait four months to reserve. And IF it gets reserved for someone (or something) else, I'll only have five months to find somewhere else. Any advice on how I should handle this problem?

I think you'll be ok.  I'd just wait until February and get in there right at the 1st to put your name in.  If by chance you don't get your date at the Rose Garden there should still be venues open... Maybe get a reception site that could be turned into both ceremony and reception if you had to.  HTH!

february 1st is a good day (*cough* my birthday) i think you will be fine.. 5 months really isn't cutting it very close. I think we booked our venue right around 5 or 6 months...

ooh and I just realized that my friend got married a couple years ago at Albertsons park (which I am thinking it is probably the same person you book through) and they booked like, a couple months before. I wouldn't stress yet!!

If it is the place you've always wanted to have your wedding, take the chance!  Otherwise you might always regret it.
