When to book

I am having my wedding in October of 2010.  I have booked my reception site, DJ and photographer.  I have noticed at all of these places, other brides are starting to booka s well.  How far out did you book your cake, flowers, officiant and caterer?  I am thinking about Attitude on food for a caterer, a Beautiful affair of the heart for an officiant and Cake Specialist for my cake...anyone used these?

I had all of that booked by February of 2008 and got married May 2009 but I was probably early on some things.  But, as long as you know who you want, you might as well book them.  You might be able to lock in cheaper rates, too by booking them sooner rather than later, and then you won't have to worry about them being available. I haven't heard much on the cake or officiant but have heard a few good reviews on Attitude on Food.  I haven't heard much lately on them but maybe someone else may be able to help you out there.

I am a local makeup artist and would suggest booking everything ASAP!! I know personally I am booking 2011 already so brides these days are way ahead of the game...just to make sure you get everything you want...good luck! Christine

I had almost everything booked by Aug 08 for a May 09 wedding... If you are one who knows exactly what you want, or if you are on a very specific budget, I really recommend booking early, especially if you already know who you want.
