did u bring your camera?

I was just thinking about this, did anyone bring their own camera to their wedding? I don't know if it would even be worth it to have something else to keep track of, and in theory you should be getting all the great shots from your photog. But it seems weird to leave your camera at home for the biggest day of your life. Would it be an insult to the photographer?

Just give your camera to a trusted friend so they can take photos with it.  Then they can give it back to you at the end of the night so you get a first look at all the pics.

I gave my camera to my personal attendant. It was great to be able to look at the pictures she took that same night. Also, she was with us from the time we got our hair done to the end of the reception, so it was great that we chose her to share the camera-duties with.

I gave my to my sister and she had it for the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and the entire wedding day.  It was sooo worth it.  The photographer wasn’t there for the R and RD so her shots and my MILs are the only ones I have.    Also, we took the camera with us on the honeymoon so we could look at wedding pictures during the honeymoon which was a lot of fun.    The photographer didn’t get there until a little  before the ceremony so my sister got some great getting ready shots.  Also, we had to wait a few weeks for the photographer’s proofs, so I got to look at her shots until we got the professional ones.   I highly recommend it.

I also gave mine to my personal attendant and she got some great shots of stuff I didn't even know was going on that day!  It was also great to be able to look at the pics right away instead of waiting for your professional ones.

Another good idea is to print cards for your guests directing them to a Photobucket account (include login & password info) so they can upload any pictures they may have taken on their own cameras during your big day. You can get different points of view this way, and it's free! *I used vistaprint.com to design "business cards" with the directions on them & got 250 for free. All I had to pay for them was about $5 s&h. I also set up a photobucket account specifically for this & just used my soon-to-be last name as the login & "wedding" as the password.
