Asking friends to be bridesmaids

I am looking for cute, creative ways to ask my friends to be bridesmaids in our wedding...any ideas?  I am open to anything including a but email.  Also should FI just ask the guys in person?

Make cute little picture frames. Paint then and decorate it ao the outside says: "Will you be my bridesmaid" Add a pictures of you and your firend. That would be cute. I did cards and my friends were like...oh thanks. BOOOO!

You could always go out to lunch or drinks and do it in person.  Mail a small package with cookies, a card, and the frame idea?

I also did the bridesmaid cookies and my bridesmaids loved them and they have all kept them as a keepsake.I got them at Weddingstand.com

I got my bridesmaids these cute little candle and candle holders that i loved(were like $4 each) and then gave them the card and wrote a poem inside:roses are red violets are bluewill you be my bridesmaidplease say i do

I asked around Easter so I picked up easter baskets and put a touching note in an egg scattered amongst candy and a ring pop. The note told each how much she meant to me and what it would me to me if they'd agree to be a bridesmaid. Another cute idea my friend did was to send a card to each bridesmaid saying top 10 reasons you should be my bridesmaid. The were hand made with a picture of the two on the front and the top 10's varied based on personal jokes and experiences. IT was so cute and I'd have copied it, but she's in my wedding!
