enagaged :) bring our own alcohol to reception?

hello!  I'm beginning some planning for a spring 2011 wedding! VERY excited! Today I'm calling around trying to find a place that allows us to bring our own alcohol to the reception for guests.  Does anyone know of any places in Omaha?  Thank you!

    Congrats on the engagement!

This website below has a list of venues that allow you to bring your own food and beverage so I would start there.

I know Legacy Hall allows you to bring your own caterer so I'm assuming that also means alcohol???  Durham Museum also allows your own caterer.

    Good luck with planning!

The pictures of the Legacy Hall on their website look very nice- especially compared to some others I have looked at in my budget :) It seems like the rental rate is reasonable as well, did you find this to be true?

Something to think about - when my sister was getting married, she too wanted to provide their own alcohol.  There were a few places that allowed it, but she didn't fall in love with the spaces.  It was explained by her caterer that if she was to provide the alcohol, their staff would not be allowed to serve it.  If the caterer provided the alcohol, it would then fall under their liquor license.  You might also want to look into whether or not the venue has liability insurance.  What if something happens at your reception?  Who would serve the alcohol? What if a minor was served? All things to take into consideration.  Finally, my sister decided it wasn't worth the hassle to save a few dollars and as it turned out, her caterer had the best bar prices in town.

SueT brings up some good points that you should look in to.

I booked my venues back in 2007 so I don't remember for sure but I think Legacy was pretty reasonable.
