DIY Flowers - ordering bulk?

Just wondering if anyone has done their own bouquets/corsages and who you ordered bulk flowers through.

My sister & I did the flowers for her wedding 6 years ago & she just ordered bulk flowers from Sam's Club.  Turned out extremely well, but before I blindly go that route myself, I was hoping someone else had ordered bulk flowers and could tell me:

** who you used
** what kind of selection did they have
** and what was the quality of the flowers you got.

Thanks!

We ordered bulk flowers from Sam's for our centerpieces and they were gorgeous!  Out of 250 roses, only one was slightly damaged.  We followed the ordering directions exactly (day to order, what to do once they arrive, how to store them, etc.) and they were in perfect condition for our reception.

I can't comment on their selection - I knew exactly what I wanted (green and white/cream) roses, so that is all I looked for.

I ordered my flowers through Lisa at the Hyvee 90th and Center.  The quality was great.  I picked her because I took a floral class from the guy who owns a wholesale floral company and he sells to that HyVee.

She was able to find the exact flowers I wanted.  One of the flowers was ranunculus and those are harder to find.

She made my bouts and corsages because I hate making them and did a really good job.

I highly recommend ordering through Lisa at that HyVee.

I am ordering mine through Hyvee on 180th & Q.  She is able to order loose flowers for me, and is even ordering some of the supplies, like the Oasis floral foam & corsage wristlets, which she is selling me cheaper than what I have found online.

lesleydawn2 - sounds awesome!  I live right near that Hy Vee - will have to check into them as well & see what their pricing/product offer is compared to Sam's & Costco!!!

efujan, see if you can speak to Pat.  She's been doing floral for a long time.  She's very knowledgable & knows what flowers she can get during which season, & is helpful.  :-)  Good luck!

Costco has bulk flowers for cheap! Like 100 roses for 75.00 that's about 75c a stem, pretty cheap! The reviews are good. I'm debating doing that for my centerpieces or ordering them from a florist....
