Hair Hair Hair

So I went and had my hair trial this past weekend.  At first I thought I liked it but after seeing it I'm not so sure... its really high on my head and I think I looked like I was out of an 80's movie.  I wanted to go to my regular hair lady but she does it out of her house so she could only do one person and I didn't want to split up the wedding party... at the risk of sounding cheap I don't want to pay $50 to go back and have another trial.  Any suggestions?  I have naturally curly hair and the hair dresser didn't seem to like that and told me to straighten it before I came in if I wanted it flat... I thought her job was to style my hair??

It sounds like it might be an issue with the stylist versus your actual hair.  I wouldn't be overly happy if my stylist asked me to do something to my hair before she was to do my hair.Your sure your regular stylist is out?  I think that might be a safe bet.Good luck!

Maybe your regular stylus has a friend that can come to her house, or where you are getting ready and help out. It is worth checking again. That or find a stylus other than the one you had for a trial. I know you don't want to pay for the trial again, I wouldn't either, but you don't want to look at the pictures you are investing in for years to come and dislike them...the $50 may be worth it.

I don't have any advice, but I would not want to go to someone who made me straighten my hair ahead of time. That's her job IMO. GL!

Oh bummer. I totally agree that she should straighten your hair for you! Thats just crazy. I don't know what I'd do other than just finding someone else and paying the extra dough, unfortunately. :(Good luck!

I, too have naturally curly hair! Personally, I would find another hair stylist. Try to find one that understands curly hair--if you find one, let me know, I just moved back to the area! My curls are extremely important to me, shoot, look at the prices that some girls pay to get what we have naturally. Try considering an updo that would complement your curls or at least one that you would not have to straighten them!

I also have naturally curly hair. I would definitely get someone else to do your hair!  A friend of the family is doing mine otherwise I would give you a name to help.  Also...there's a bunch of curly hair pictures on this knot page if you need any ideas!  http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/default.aspx?username=curlyhairbio&NestProfile=0Best of luck :)
