Sweetheart table vs. Head table

So, I've been thinking about which one to do. I think I would rather have a sweetheart table my MOH and BM have their own kids and I would rather have them sit with their kids then to have the kids up at the head table making alot of noise. But, I know that my FH would rather have a head table. What are your views/opinions on these two options?

My weddings planners asked me about it yesterday. I am not a big fan of sweetheart table but your reasons are great. Go with your heart...and with yoour ears!!!

I'm in the same boat minus the kids part.

I want to have a sweetheart table, but FI wants to have the head table.

He wants to have a head table but with the BP's dates too, Luckily everyone in our BP has dates but no kids. But I'm still not sure how I feel about this.

So To answer your question...I don't know! LOL

We are also in the I dont know boat.  We are thinking probably a head table, but ours is going to be set up a little different.  Since we only have my MOH and his brother standing up with us, we are going to do a square table with he and I on one side looking out, his brother and his date on the side by FI and my MOH and her date on the side by me.  The side across from where we will be sitting will be open so we can see out.

There is also the possibility of a kings table which could go in the middle of the room or anywhere really and you can have more people sit there because it is usually more square/rectangle and decorated different.  Then, kids, etc could sit there.  I would say we are going with a modified version of this.

I am in the "I don't know" boat.  Our venue is really set up to have a head table, but I would like everyone to sit with their SOs.  Our BP is rather small though and everyone pretty much knows each other so I think it would be ok.  FI will definitely not want a sweetheart table, but not sure what else to do.  Hmm...good thing I have 7 months to decide!

We're going with a head table.  My fiance wanted to have one...I like the idea of a sweetheart table, but don't have a strong opinion one way or another.  

I got to thinking...there are very few things that my fiance has really requested (he's been involved the whole time, just usually says that he's comfortable with whatever decision I make) so if he wants it, that's what we'll do.  

When my MOH got married a few years ago, she had an interesting set up.  They had a round sweetheart table and then two long rectangle tables on each side of it (there was a little space to walk between the round table & others).  The bridesmaids all sat at the rectangle table to the brides side and the groomsmen at the rectangle tables to the grooms side.  It was a different than what I'd seen before & it worked well for their venue.

I would have the sweetheart table if we decide NOT to have a receiving line.  This way, people can come up to the table without feeling like they're "introduing".

If we do have a receiving line, we will probably have a couple head tables (unsure how to arrange this).  Our venue has a stage for the head table, but our wedding party is too big (6 bridesmaids & 6 groomsmen), so we would be able to do half  on the stage and half below.  Or we would do all on the same ground level.

If I decided to go with the sweetheart table, would I have a different centerpiece? and I don't think that I would want it to be in the middle of the room. I have a long time to think about this but, I like to get sh** done lol.
