Veils and all that jazz for your head.

My dress came with a veil that I picked out, but I'm absolutely HATING the veil that I chose now. It cuts me in half and just doesn't fit with the feel of my dress. I was hoping to do either an illusion tulle birdcage veil or a full length cathedral veil (one extreme or the other), but I think I want to do both now (full for ceremony and birdcage for reception).

Where did you girls get your veils at?
Did you order them through your dress place?
Did you find any places online?
Are you doing a veil?
Accesories for the veil? Combs? Flowers? Feathers? Tiaras? Sparklies?
Marrieds- Do you have pictures of your veils in your hair that shows the full length?

I can't visualize any sort of veil and I'm needing some inspiration from real life stuff rather than stock photos from the internet. I've attempted creeping on people's sites, but I can only creep for so much before I feel like a stalker.

Spanks!

I haven't bought my veil yet, but my dress has a fair amount of embellishment so I think I want a single layer (fingertip?) veil so you can see the beading through it.  I think I want a little beading along the edge.  Something like this: http://www.veilshop.com/v183-42_crystal_bridal_wedding_veil.html I really wanted a birdcage veil, but it just doesn't go with my dress.

After the ceremony, I am going to take the veil off and use a gardenia hairpiece  for the reception.

I'm not sure if I'm doing any kind of veil yet. I think I want to do a low side pony with a vintage/rustic hair clip or something. I'm not sure if a veil would look right with it. Do you know how you're wearing your hair?

My hair is going to be obnoxious and huge and up. Like a classic 1950's Audrey Hepburn bun or something. I don't do curls and all that fancy stuff. Kinda like this...

    Sorry! Imma huge picture hoar.

But with all the height and poof at the top, I could wear the cathedral underneathe the bun rather than on top, sort of a'la Cameron from "House", or Hillary Duff.

I really liked Hilary Duff's look and the one where the girl is holding the glass ball thingy.

I'm wearing a cathedral veil that I got from the bridal shop.  My mom had to negotiate them giving it to me for free because she paid in full for my dress and they weren't trying to give any discount whatsoever for paying in full.  So their compromise was to give me the veil for free.  Even though I haven't picked it yet, I know that I'll wear some kind of crystal/rhinestone comb in my hair along with the veil.

I've seen pictures of your dress and I personally think you could pull off both looks.  The cathdral veil would look beautiful with your dress since while it's gorgeous it's also simple, so the cathedral veil will add a bit of drama.  I think you have the personality (even though I don't know you, you seem fun and quirky, great combination) to pull off the birdcage veil for the reception.  Either way you go you'll look hawt! Where did you girls get your veils at? I ordered mine at Alan Ray. He custom made it for me to match the beading on my dress.

Did you order them through your dress place?  Yes

Did you find any places online? there are a few, but I am the type of person that likes to see it, feel it and touch it before I decide

Are you doing a veil?  I did

Accesories for the veil? Combs? Flowers? Feathers? Tiaras? Sparklies?  He put a comb on it

Marrieds- Do you have pictures of your veils in your hair that shows the full length?  Yup, in bio

I am doing a veil for ceremony and then a hair piece (comb with sparklies and maybe some feathers if I can find some cruelty free ones) for the ceremony. I am doing vintage traditional 50s theme.

I am doing a veil for the ceremony, I got mine through the same place I bought my dress. My veil is a blusher(?) not sure if thats what its called. But for the reception the woman Shannon Goode from Goode Hair who is doing my hair actually made me a custom piece for my reception. Its red and white feathers. I love it.

I love the idea of a cathedral for the ceremony and a birdcage for the reception. And sep, with your dress I think both would look really beautiful.
Where did you girls get your veils at? The same place as my dress.

Did you order them through your dress place? Yes. It was easy just to do it all at once.

Did you find any places online? I know etsy has a quite a few sellers for veils and headpieces, but I didn't quite find what I was looking for in a headpiece. And I really wanted to try it on with my dress before committing.

Are you doing a veil? I wanted a simple cathedral length veil, something formal and dramatic, but that wou;dn't take away from the rest of the outfit. So that's what I got.

Accesories for the veil? Combs? Flowers? Feathers? Tiaras? Sparklies? Ended up finding a gorgeous crystal headband at Big Rock Little Rooster. The head band looked like it matched the brooch I had in the center of one of the flowers on my dress (clear crystal with darker metal). They also carried other coordinating pieces that went with the headband. I loved it!

Marrieds- Do you have pictures of your veils in your hair that shows the full length?
So apparently my computer's being mean and won't let me upload directly, but here's a couple public links from my facebook page.
