Here's how to contact the string quartet we're using for our New Years Eve wedding:
jamesj1982@gmail.com
He played for us and was absolutely wonderful! Tell him Katie from the NYE wedding recommended him and you might get the same deal we did (which was pretty good!)

otherwise, try the music department at ISU. They will either be able to tell you some good recommendations of professionals or might be able to tell you some student quartet members that could play as well.

Oh my gosh ladies - i'm SO SORRY for this, but PLEASE spread the word to NOT use this person i had previously recommended. He e-mailed me today and just told me that he's no longer going to do our wedding - putting us in such a bind!
Even worse- the reason he bailed (after 2 months of commitment) is because i asked if for one song in the ceremony could include a guitar because i wanted to surprise my FI and sing during the wedding to him...James (the violinist who books them) said he will "only play with guitarists who are of studio recording quality - due to his<em> reuptation</em> being on the line" and he would have to interview the guitar player to decide if he was going to play with him or not.
So i told him no problem - we could just find other musicians for this one song if he felt like what i was asking was outside of his comfort zone or what he promised in the contract. and he responded with "we've suddenly just taken another deposit from another bride for your night - sorry".
SO AWFUL and totally broke my heart. So please be warned about James Juneau or they call themselves The Rhapsody Band.

Thank you for the tip on not using this quartet. I had asked for information from them before, but because of price was going to go with another group. Below is the information for the group I think I will be going with. They have been great to answer all my questions, and I have a lot. They are also pretty good for what I have seen other groups charging. They have a ton of information on their website too, which is really helpful. Hope this helps!
Thanks - i finally did check with her today and she is booked! boo...
can you believe that James guy e-mailed me AGAIN just now to tell me i'll probably have no luck finding another string quartet for my wedding and he still can't believe i had the audacity to ask him to let a guitar play during one song too!
i can't decide if i'm sad or it's practically comical how nuts it all seems!
sorry...just needed to vent!

That is absolutely ridiculous about the James guy. I'm a musician myself, and I would never have reacted that way. It's absolutely unprofessional, not to mention that it's losing clients. Musicians can't afford to lose clients and treat them badly. What a jerk.
I would highly, highly recommend "Signature Strings." They are professional in every way. I just had them play at my wedding last August, and I would NEVER have chosen anyone but them! I met with the first violinist and she was incredible. She let ME choose my music and listened to every one of my requests. I was so pleased with my music! I also considered the 42nd St. Quartet and have to say that I never would have chosen anyone but Signature Strings! There website is www.signaturestrings.yolasite.com and their phone is 515-710-5347.
