Alterations in Ames/DSM area

Anyone have suggestions for a good place to get my wedding dress altered in Ames or DSM? I'm sure as heck not going to DB, they were a big enough pain just to get my dress ordered. Everyone I ask always says "Oh well I got mine done at so-and-so... but I wouldn't recommend them..." I'm less than two months away from the wedding so I need to get this figured out fast!

Thanks ladies!

I got my dress from the Bridal Boutique in the East Village. The alterations person there is also an outside alterations lady - it's called Transformations by Kerri. I know she does alterations on any kind of dress, whether if it's from the Bridal Boutique or not.
So I'd suggest calling the Bridal Boutique (there's one in the East Village by the Capital and there's one in Perry,IA), or you could contact Kerri herself. Her website is www.transformationsbykerri.com
I have actually not gone for a fitting yet for my bridal gown -it's actually tomorrow! But she did do a bridesmaids dress alterations for me and it was $60 for a hem and letting out about an inch in the hips. I really don't know if that's average or high, but it was done well and pretty quick.
    Good luck! Hope that helps!

I got my dress at Weddings by Design and they use Jude Dickson. She does most everything out of her home and is very good. SHe does all styles of dresses and it doesnt matter where you bought it. I was very happy with my first fitting with her. I have my 2nd fitting in July and have no doubts that it won't be done correctly. All of her contact info is on the Weddings by Design website.

I was also going to suggest alterations by Kerri. She fixed my wedding dress that Schaeffers screwed up on!!!! It did cost me though. About $370 but I had alot done....still pretty pricey but probably average.
