Shimmery/Silver table cloths needed/wanted

Hi all!

I have to meet with venue next week and they are going to ask me my colors and what linens I want from them.  Thing is- they dont HAVE what I want really.  My colors are aqua, orchid (meduim purplish-pink) and pale pink, with silver accents.  Winter fairy tale theme.
I am envisioning GORGEOUS textured, shimmery silver cloths on the round tables...BUT alas, can't find them.  Any suggestions?!  I am also on a budget.  Thanks!

  • Our venue came with the stock white linen. I wanted the same look as you, so I went to JoAnns during one of their sale weekends, plus I had a 50% coupon, and got a grey lace with some shimmer and made runners for the tables. It didn't end up being too much and I think will add a lovely touch to the tables.
  • Thank you!!  : )  How do you make runners though?  I am not handy when it comes to crafts like this.  I WISH!!

  • I found lace at JoAnns that I liked, and then cut it in half vertically. My mom sewed/finished the edges... sorry, not much help there :/ I think that she just folded them under and used the machine to do a simple stich? Maybe some of the more experienced ladies on the DIY board could be of more help here.

Perhaps you would be able to use that iron-hem stuff? I don't see why it wouldnt work. Its like a thin tape, you fold the fabric over it, and then it melts and essentially creates a seam line for you. They sell it al Wal-Mart for like $3. It may be work playing around with.
  • Thank you so much!!  You're helpful.
