July 14th Brides - Progress Check?

Two months for 7/14 brides!

What is left on your to-do list? I am in a weird place with planning now that my invites are out, but we don't have many RSVPs back yet. What kinds of things are left on your to-do list? What are you prioritizing?

  • I am not July 14th...(I am July 28th)...but I feel like participating in this chat anyway hahaha. last night fiance and I worked on coordinating our two timelines. It was kind of difficult, as we were trying to plan when/how our two photographers would split up prior to the ceremony to do the separate boy/girl photo times. We also were trying to figure out how the limo would make the two trips from the hotel to the church (one for boys and one for girls). it was kind of complicated!!

    my current projects include finding cute vintage-y frames for our escort table + meet the maids table. I also still need to buy a guest book, yikes! that was something I meant to do a long time ago, but I was torn on what I wanted, so I didn't do it yet.

    Timelines are definitely something I need to put some time into. Ours are a bit complicated b/c we only have one photographer, so we have to figure out how to get the best use of her time. I'm not sure, but I'm thinking maybe she will do getting ready shots at the hotel with me, then she'll go to the church and get a few quick shots with the guys (they don't really need getting ready shots, right??), and then we'll show up ready to go and she can do a few more shots with us all primped and ready before she goes to set-up for the ceremony. Ahhh everything is going to be so tight, we really need to get organized with it all!

  • we are doing something similar with our photos, except that our husband + wife team is going to split up before the ceremony so one will be with each of us all day.

    the boys are heading to the church first since a few of the groomsmen will also potentailly be doing usher duties too. since they will get there SUPER early, they might take some of their outdoor pics outside of the church in a grassy area there. it's soooo complicated trying to pin everything in the timeline down to the minute!!!!
  • Bmore, I have SO much to do. The thought that we only have two months makes me want to throw up all over my keyboard! And I had to drop off my ring at the jeweler this morning to replace one of the side diamonds so I'm sad because I don't have my ring today. AND it's Monday! :(

    As far as to-dos, I need to actually complete the DIY stuff for which I've bought materials. The chalkboard menu, the seating chart (but that needs to wait), the frames I bought that need to be spraypainted, the table numbers, the drink menus for the bars, etc. That's all stuff I can do next weekend when I'm home, though. I also need to decide by Wednesday about the veneers for my teeth. They are going to be a LOT more expensive than I originally thought - I must have intentionally disregarded what he told me about cost because it was so much money.

    The priority at the moment is the ceremony music. We were supposed to talk about music selections on our flight to Duke this weekend, but the flight was at 7am and we both slept the whole way there and the on the way back, both had to do work, so we didn't do anything WR this weekend :(

    I'm waiting for my wedding planner to send me a finalized timeline, which I can send to you guys if you want when I have it. I've seen a version of hers and it's really great - totally satisfies my OCDness.

    your projects all sound totally do-able - it sounds like a lot, but once you get going, I don't think any of those will be extremely time consuming or overwhelming. Just getting started is the hardest part!!
  • Technically I'm July 15th but since there are only like 2 of us I'll join you guys!

    I feel like I have so much to do. I have to:
    Plan music (dances, do not play, etc)
    Finish planning menu
    Photo list
    Write Ceremony
    Figure out ceremony music (who's doing it, what is it)
    Write and print programs
    Seating chart/escort cards
    welcome bags
    finish planning rehearsal dinner
    fittings
    hair trial
    figure out make-up
    Book grooms cake
    And probably a lot more I'm not thinking of.

    Priority right now is menu, because I want to put it on our website and invites go out this week, and ceremony. Two months is so not enough time!

  • So I am July 13th but its the same weekend so I will jump in.  I feel like I have about a million things to do still!  Right now I am trying to figure out our escort cards, make a timeline, and make a must have picture list for our photographer.  I need to meet with our caterer this week and make a decision on where we are ordering our cake from.  I have about 8 million other things on my to do list but I am focusing on these ones this week.

  • Yep, definitely feeling the crunch! Our responses are due back June 4 so I really can't do anything with seating/place cards/etc until then.

    Recently done:
    Picked up our rings and got them engraved.
    We're in the thick of dance lessons :) 
    Ordered our guest book off etsy so I'm waiting on that
    Planned our reading/ceremony music with church

    Left to do:
    wedding party gifts
    must play/do not play list
    finalize favors
    final fitting
    shopping for honeymoon clothes!
    church program
    print kids' coloring books for church

    I'm sure there's a thousand other things, but that's the short list ;)

    I cannot believe we're at the two month mark!!! I have been in a lull lately...

    Still to do:

    This month:
    HM flights and make final payments for hotel and activities
    WP gifts
    Favors
    Mail invitations-we started putting them together this weekend in hopes they'll be mailed on Wed...
    Figure out transportation
    Hair trail
    Church Programs

    To be done in June:
    Music list 
    Marriage license 
    Food tasting 
    Flower choosing

    Yuck...putting it all out there makes me realize I gotta get my butt in gear...

  • Ahh, I have to finalize my centerpieces-I'm pretty sure I have everything I need, box them and label them by table for easy set-up day-of.

    Finish my brooch bouquet

    Decide on wedding day jewelry.

    Hair trial and make-up trial

    Gifts for the WP

    begin teeth whitening 6 weeks out

    Finish my cork- J

    Work on ceremony and vows

    find my mom a stinkin' dress

    finalize day of timeline-almost done with this one.


    YIKES.  That's more than I want to think about right now!

  • I have tons of small things to do.  

    I want to order escort cards and favors tonight possibly.  

    Also, I want to do a photosharing website and need to order those cards.  

    Invites are sent out so besides stalking the mailbox the rest of the week.... 

    starting my DIY projects that I bought materials for.  I have hangers for the BM's and the programs to start working on.  

    I also have to work on our ceremony and day-of timeline.  

    Also, book excursions for the honeymoon! 

    Oh right and thank you cards for this past weekend's shower, and I want to start writing out envelopes for thank you cards for the wedding so its easier after the HM.

    Oh right and my house is still in boxes, totally NWR but its driving me crazy!!
