January 2013 Weddings

RSVPs

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting RSVPs?  We have 43 outstanding RSVP cards (including from my brother- who is obviously coming since he is in the wedding!).  Our deadline is December 15, and they are only slowly trickling in!  I know we purposely made our deadline early but I feel like everyone forgot to respond and I'm starting to get frustrated!

Re: RSVPs

  • Our rsvp by date was yesterday... We've received about one third so far. People dont pay attention, unfortunately. I'm sending a mass Facebook message to the outstanding in a week or so. hoping to get all rsvps one way or another by Christmas !!
  • I have 2 outstanding. Everyone has been really great about sending them back really quickly. They seem to come in groups. The first group was all yes. And now we've had a long line of people RSVPing no. It is sad since most of the no's are my friends. I understand why they can't make it, but it is still hard. At this point the only people that are coming from my side are my mom and 5 old co-workers. Sigh. We only invited 34 people too!

  • Our deadline isn't until January 7th and so far we have 33 of 113. They're trickling in about 3-4 per day, so I hope before Christmas we'll have most of them!

I am still waiting on 90!!! The RSVP date is the 15th, and one of our hotel blocks was the 10th, so I am hoping that the people I wanted to stay at that hotel (the one we are staying at after the wedding) have made their reservation. It certainly is a bit annoying, but we are still getting 1 or 2 a day, so I have hope. After the 20th we will be calling everyone though, because I want to know the final count by Christmas (so I can make programs/escort cards and order favors/welcome boxes).

  • We sent out 19 invites (43 people) and have gotten 11 back (20 people), only two no's! We still have 4 invites (5 people) that I know are for sure coming but haven't RSVP'd.... so that leaves like 15ish that we aren't sure about.
Plus parents and siblings... they aren't accounted for above.

We have an entire month before the RSVP date is up though, so we'll see. We got a ton the first month and now they've essentially stopped :( I LOVE getting them in the mail.
  • Mine are being sent to my sister's house since we are in the process of moving and didn't want them lost in the mail. It's kind of a bummer because I'm super anxious to see who is coming! We had 145 invites (307 people) and my sister said that she's gotten about a third back so far... All yes but one! I'm sure the wave of no's is yet to come. Ours aren't due until the end of the month.

<div>I wish I could do that!  However, even some of our bridal party and people who have booked hotel rooms have yet to respond!  So I guess I can assume those people are coming?  I just don't understand why people don't think it's important to respond.... </div>
  • I am still missing like at least 50 of the 115 we sent out. my deadline was 12/6.

</div><div>Yeah, I just don't understand this.  It's one card they have to fill out with a self-addressed and stamped envelope already there to send it back in.  How much easier can I make it?  My deadline is the 15th and we're missing about a third as well.  </div><div>
</div><div>As much as I would like to just assume the people I don't hear from aren't coming, I know there could be mail problems so it's best to follow up with all the missing RSVPs, as frustrating as it is.  Just found out a friend never got his invite when he asked a mutual friend if we had sent them, because he got the STD and not an invite and thought it was weird.  Thing is, I haven't gotten his invite back from USPS indicating there was a problem, so his invite is lost in no man's land.   Same thing could have happened to the RSVPs people did send back. </div><div>

Yeah, I've gotten some invitations returned to be as recently as last week so now I'm just paranoid that people never got the invite. Makes me nervous.

A lot of people just don't know their plans yet either which is frustrating. I mean, work, school, new baby, or moving I understand. anything else and I feel b-listed, like "I'll come to your wedding if I don't have anything better to do."
  • We invited 130 people and have only heard back from like 45...so yea about a third too for us.  My deadline is Dec. 28th, so they still have a few weeks, but still.
We usually get one or two a day, sometimes none.  I love getting them also, Ksblumb!  : )
If they don't all come in by the 30th, I am going to have to contact people- like it or not, we need a full count.
    God is Faithful!
  • I'm not sure if it makes me feel better or worse that we aren't alone!  Nothing in the mail again today... it would make me feel better if they were trickling in, but we have had a few days of nothing!

Our deadline was today (12/12  - I thought it would be easy for people to remember...) we are still missing about 50 people's RSVPs.  A lot of the wedding party hasn't responded either, I've just added them to the count and factored in dates for all of them and I guess I'll bug them to tell me if they are bringing anyone so we can get an accurate number.

Anyways, that's only about 1/4 of our guestlist missing so I guess it's not terrible compared to some.  We will definitely be contacting all of them if we don't hear in the next week though - I've had several invitations returned, just found out today that one had a typo in the house number (but it never got returned - so maybe some random people will show up haha).  So I'm worried some people replied and the card got lost, or never got the invitation - that's why we'll follow up.

@Laurbar I know what you mean about the mail. I feel like I'm stalking the mail man. Monday we got 7 cards back. He didn't come at all yesterday (not to our neighbors either so who knows why) and then today there were no RSVPs at all.  None in two days worth of mail :(.  I'm guessing that a lot of people put theirs in the mail on the RSVP date or the day after though, so maybe we'll get a flood of them soon.
  • We had 'em all in December 10 ... with a deadline of December 1.  I was pretty pissy with some people from December 2 to December 10 -- most were FI's friends and some of FI's family apparently thought that if you don't send back the RSVP we'll just assume you're not coming! *facepalm*
  • My count is in my ticker.  But deadline is Jan 5, so still have plenty of time!

  • Thankfully we are having a dessert reception and we don't need to really worry about RSVPs. We are just making enough desserts for about 300 people. It would be a lot harder if we were serving an actual meal. I hope the RSVP to you quickly!
