Reasonably priced DJ

I'm just starting my search for a DJ for my wedding next August.  Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with a particular DJ service?  I know I am looking for a professional DJ that I can meet with before the wedding (not just the company), but I don't know what else to look for besides the price tag.  Any suggestions on how to narrow down the search are also welcome.  Thanks!

Check out Neon Express or Midwest Light and Sound.  Both get good reviews around here.

We had a really good experience with Neon Express. They were about $300 for both ceremony music and the reception/dance. We never met with the DJ beforehand, but he was willing to answer all of my questions online, called us to confirm before the wedding, and did his best to accomodate all of my friend's requests. He didn't have a song we wanted, so he even let my MOH hook up her smartphone to his equipment!

We have the Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment and they gave us a good price, well actually they made a mistake by giving us an incorrect price which was $100 less than what it should have been, but they decided to stick with their mistake and we got them for $100 less!

KFult Productions does a great job for an amazing price! I have seen him at a friends wedding and he kept people on the dance floor all night! We booked him right away after seeing how great he is for such a great price!

We're using Midwest Sound & Lights as well... they have been amazing thus far! I haven't spoke directly to "our" DJ but I'm not afraid with how their company is run and the reviews that they have had here, and from other people throughout the state!

We are also using midwest sound. We asked about meeting our DJ ahead of time, and here is what they told me:
Midwest matches a DJ based on what you put on your planning forms, rather than just sending someone random. They want to make sure you get the right person.

They also mentioned that no DJ service could ever "guarantee" a specific person, because the whole what if (illness, family emergency, etc)

Even though we don't talk to our DJ until the week of the wedding, we aren't worried at all. We have seen them at a few weddings.

In my research Midwest, Instant Request, and Complete Music (who we went with ) were all about the same price wise.  Ultimately we went with CM because we loved the DJ we met with and wanted to hire him for our wedding.  I think if you went with any of those companies you'd be satisfied.
