Flowerman Question

So my flowers are actually pretty important to me (I  never thought they would be), but my question is more about The Flowerman vendor.  I went and had a consultation with her earlier this week, and I got pretty good vibes from her but I was just curious other people's opinions.  I don't know anyone that has used the company to do DIY flowers and combo of them doing some pieces, I just want to know how well it works out.  I'm not very creative but I do have a few creative friends, so will this work how I have the idea in my head?!  Thanks

Re: Flowerman Question

  • We are using the Flowerman and my mom's interior decorator is actually putting everything together. We are just buying everything in bulk, and she is doing them. I like flowers, but not enough to do them myself, as long as they look good. I actually have never been to meet with them, my mom took care of all of it as I was away finishing my master's, but she feels like she had a really good experience. She also went and took a wreath making class there just a few weeks ago and brough home some really cute stuff. I will let you know what I think after the wedding.

  • I liked the flowerman when I met with them but I still have not seen my quote and it has been 3 weeks, but I am patiently waiting, i know they are busy. I feel like if you do it there it is dumby proof, they help you step by step, I was considering getting them in bulk and having them treat it (we are just doing carnations, roses, and gerbera daisy) but we will probably do ours there if we decide to go with them.
  • I met with them and liked what we had put together.  THe more I thought about it, the more I realized how hard it was going to be for me to get enough people together a day or 2 before the wedding, during the work day, to get them done.  Then I was worrying about how/who/when there would be time to pick the flowers up and get them to the reception venue and church the day of.  I hear good things from others though who are able to get all the details worked out and have the people available to help.  Luckily I found another florist that came in only $50 ahead of Flowerman which included more flowers, more expensive flowers, and delivery.

  • @ csh96:  Would you mind telling me who you ended up going with for flowers?
  • I went with Kelly Karsten

I used for Flowerman and my flowers turned out lovely. Very easy step by step instruction and Melissa jumped in whenever things were not going in the right direction. Also they had great ideas and knew how to execute them. Very helpful and my flowers lasted For weeks after the wedding. I'm drying some out now as a keepsake.
  • I met with Flowerman, but for hte flowers I had chosen, I Couldn't justify the small cost savings for do it yourself.... so I didn't book with them
