Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

alterations...

So...i have had nothing but trouble with my dress! It was ordered with out the consultant taking my measurements, the size the ordered for me came in 2 sizes too large, and I had a VERY difficult time explaing to the shop owner why I was so upset.

Anyways-The shop that I purchased my dress from agreed to make the manufacturer pay for the sizing issue, and that their seamstress would take it in for me.  She did take it in, but not enough and the left side puckers and it looks like I am wearing a fanny pack underneath because she didn't take in the lining! Un real. So upset and frusterated and STILL need my dress taken in! So, any recomemdations for amazing bridal seamstresses in the metro area would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I went with Unique Bridal where I bought my dress. Unlike most places, they do everything in their shop (many others contract the work out into people's homes without admitting to it). I've been very pleased with how my dress came out and get to pick it up tomorrow!

I'd be pissed too if I were in your shoes. The mistakes they made are really amateur-ish ones, an established/experienced seamstress would know to alter the lining along with the actual dress. So sorry you're having a lot of issues with this, I unfortunately don't have any references for you :-(

I have only made an appointment, haven't yet seen the work of, Amazing Alterations based in Anoka. If that is a more convenient location for you I would absolutely consider that. I know of other knotties that have used her (Brenda)and thought she did an awesome job for them.

ETA: The bridal shop sounds pretty shitty, sorry that happened to you.

Thanks everyone for the great info.  Yes, I am super upset and really disapointed by my entire experience with this bridal store.  Luckily my wedding isn't until the end of September, but I want to make sure the dress fits!
How did everything go with Brends at amazing alterations?  Were you happy with the results and pricing?

I went with Tammy's Tailoring in Plymouth. She's fabulous and was very reasonable in prices.
