Can't find motivation to work out!

Help!  I am getting married in 7 months, and I still have a good 15lbs to lose.  I can't seemed to get motivated for the life of me.  I work full time and then I come home and am a full time mommy to my almost 1 year old daughter.  How do other moms find the motivation and time to work out?  I'm struggling with this!

Any thoughts/suggestions would be great!!  Thanks a head of time Smile

  • I'd definitely rent workout videos from Netflix if you have a membership- streaming's even better. They've got a lot of variety to stream.

I got the Zumba Fitness 2 game for my Wii and have played it a few times, it's fun but I personally like group classes better. Unfortunately my gym doesn't offer Zumba classes at convenient times for me. I'm also a fan of Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease series, you wouldn't think they'd be much of a workout but it is!

Like PPs have said, simple swaps in your meals make a huge difference too like eating whole wheat or multigrain bread instead of white. My new favorite snack is dry roasted chickpeas, they have a ton of fiber and protein- plus super cheap to make. Can season them with any spice blend you want, I use Cajun.

I think taking the first steps are always the hardest but once you set a workout regimenand make the commitment to eat better you'll find it easier and easier.

That said, you HAVE TO make time to workout.  Try getting up an hour earlier - not fun, not easy, but that's one way to make sure you get a workout in.  I love Jillian Michaels' DVDs.  In just under 2 months I've completed the 30 Day Shred and am now on my third week of Ripped in 30 and have lost 15lbs - 1.5" off my waist, 1" off my thighs!  Plus I know I've built a ton of muscle I didn't have before!  It really has been amazing!  You HAVE TO eat better or you'll completely mess up the effort you've put into your workout.

It's hard for me this time of year to stay motivated especially with the ick weather but hold yourself to goals and stick to them!

    Good luck!

  • I second (or I think third) Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred! I need to get back on that rutine. The results were so obvious (and quick) that it gave me tons of motivation!
