Advice

Invitation kits? Yeah or nay? Reviews? Suggestions to me they seem like a lot of work but I'd like to get some feedback. Flower education: Who does well and doesn't price gouge? "checking off another box each day and loving it!"

Re: Advice

  • we are doing invitation kits but now I don't know about them, I might try and sell them off, because idk about printing them. But they are definitely cheap!

flowers, I had a lot of trouble with this because everyone was definitely over my budget, so we are considering silks, I found a lady in columbus who does satin hand made flowers and she mixes it with brooches and I am considering that for my bouquet and then just silks for my bridesmaids. I am over flowers and all the crap that comes with them. they are just so expensive
  • A lot of flowers depends on what flowers you decided you want.  I LOVED my florist... but They were definitly expensive... but I also had some very expensive flowers in my bouquet! ANd my Maid of Honors Bouquet.... So depends on the flowers you pick sometimes

  • I got my invitations from Jo-Ann Fabrics.  The kit included the invite, RSVP cards, the 2 corresponding evelopes and the ribbon to tie around it.  VERY EASY to print.  The kit comes with practice sheets and you print directly from the webiste so no fuss with trying to figure out margins.  I used coupons at Jo-Anns and got each box of 25 for only $14!!!

Flowers-I am not using many flowers-my bouquet, 3 girls on my side, my groom and 3 men on his side, 2 moms, 1 dad and 2 grammas.  My flower bill is just under $500-I am using Flowers on High-Check in out!
  • I figure it can't be that bad. I am not decorating the church. There isn't enough time and I find it gorgeous. I also am not having a bridal party one less thing! My daughter is my only attendant and we are giving each other a speech.
  • I know you asked specifically about kits, but another option you might want to consider is buying an invitation desing (off of etsy or elsewhere) and having them printed.  It has the best of both worlds: cheap and easy.

  • From there where do you have them printed? I am doing save the dates by printing 4x6 photos at Walgreens using their .10 print special for valentines day. I personally thought it was brilliant vista print has a groupon right now for 70 worth of printing for 17. Happy shopping ladies!
  • Do you have a memebership to Sam's Club? They have a "wedding package" of 125 roses for about $85. They're worth checking out!
  • I am starting to think it might not be that bad. Since I dont have a bridal party. I need the following. A bouquet for myself, a junior bridesmaid bouquet for my daughter. A coursage girl my MIL and three boutaineers. One for my groom , father and Father in law. I don't need them for anything else.
