Northern WI honeymoon

Hey ladies - this feels strange to post but I need help with my honeymoon. My FI was going to do a little tour de north shore but due to some impending cutbacks at his job, we're going to probably spend a few days at my folks' cabin in the Spooner, WI area instead to save a little $. The grand getaway thing isn't critical for me but I do want to make it somewhat unique. I grew up going there just about every weekend but didn't spend much time out and about - pretty much sat by the lake and enjoyed my relaxing time. We're getting married in October and I am looking for suggestions of what do or see. I sort of want to find a spa too but there isn't a lot to choose from. Anyone know the Spooner, Hayward, Minong, Danbury area and have suggestions?

This might stretch your "save a little $"...but maybe you can fit in one splurge:Less than 1/2 hour drive south is a little town called Chetek.  Just outside Chetek is Canoe Bay, a secluded, high-end luxury resort.I would recommend giving them a call, explaining you are staying at a family cabin nearby for your honeymoon and asking if you can take advantage of their massage treatments and dining.  Prices, etc. are on their web site:  www.canoebay.comIt's expensive ($120 per person) but the dinner in their private wine cellar is amazing.  The food at Canoe Bay is as good as almost all of the top Minneapolis restaurants.  It's worth it if you like great dining.  I have friends with cabins, etc. in that area as well...I'll ask them what else is up there.  Enjoy it.
