So last week I had trouble with my first attempt to print our invitations (BRIDES's/Gartner Studios, pic below). We switched from our laser printer to our ink jet, and had fantastic results! No issues whatsoever with the ink - no smearing, no issues with the texture of the paper. The best part: I printed 240 invites (invites, response cards, two-sided maps/direction/hotel cards, labels for the response cards, return address seals, and the mailing labels) on one ink cartridge! Also, no jamming or misfeeds! We printed our invites with a dark brown ink and it looks fantastic! Very rich looking - my FMIL could hardly believe that we paid less than $1 for each invite. We didn't use the seals that came with - they were just too small and didn't seem to seal very well. I found a website that had ivory oval labels by the sheet, so we purchased a few sheets of those and printed the return address on those for a better seal. IMO, it is also a little more elegant than the seal that was included. We also added a sheet of tissue paper (just purchased a cheap package from Target and used a paper cutter and a dry iron - went surprizingly quick since we could cut and iron a good stack at once) to protect the invite and add that little touch. We also are not using the ribbon that was included - we'll use those for some of our favors instead. I am incredibly happy with how they turned out - they look amazing and are exactly what we wanted. They'll go in the mail today!
