Hello girls, i am newly engaged and just started to plan my wedding. I'm so excited but also not sure where to begin. We are planning a smaller destination wedding in FL somewhere on the beach, looking at Siesta Key or Longboat key.

I would love to talk to someone who has planned a destination wedding and how well it went, vendors, etc...

    welcome to the board!
    I'm also newly engaged, but I actually live in Florida, and am planning our wedding in Columbus.
    I'm in Central FL though, so not sure how much help I will be on that front, but I will try to help as much as I can :-)

    Welcome to the board, I would definitely check out the destination board, they have a lot of posts about that. I looked into planning for a split second and then I decided I needed my family and friends there

    No much help planning a DW here, but I am always good for a drink when you need to de-stress :-)

    ohsoashley, that is sooo funny! Where in Columbus?
    Central Florida doesn't have beaches, or does it? :)

    hnkreager, i might take you up on that drink lol

    I did go to the beach weddings board and also SWF board to ask few questions there. Thank you everyone.

    I actually live on the coast. Right across the river from Kennedy Space Center.  It's the Cocoa Beach area, to be exact (but "central florida" is technically Orlando).

    And, we don't for sure have our venue yet, but probably Hilton at Polaris. FI's family lives in Westerville.

    Let me know if you have any questions or anything. I am actually a wedding planner down here (to anyone else reading this-- i am NOT advertising) and I'd be happy to help ya out if you need pointers or anything like that :-)

    Thank you Ashley (I assume this is your name), do you know any vendors from the west coast that you can recommend? I particularly interested in florist and photographer, i have few in mind from there and i can have my dad meet with them before i can get there myself, and thank you for your offering.Smile
