Rehearsal Dinner- Inviting S/O's

So a few weeks back I posted about how my future in-laws are hosting the rehearsal dinner (awesome!), but FI told me they could only afford wedding party and not their s/o's. And I knew it was rude not to invite s/o's so I had a dilemma, which you all helped me with. (thanks again!) And I suggested cheaper venues to her, but she really wanted to go to a nice place. We met with a couple of possible venues last week. And guess what? It turns out my future MIL was planning on inviting s/o's all along! And I talked with FI about it after, asking him why he told me they couldn't afford it. And his response? I don't remember telling you that! Oh for the love. So I was stressing for 3 weeks about something that was a non-issue.

This is why my FI gets assigned tasks.  One task at a time.  And he's never in charge of relaying any type of information.  Case in point: We had a few straggler invites to mail out (one being to my MOH who needed a new address due to a recent move).  I sent him to work with the small pile of invites to mail over his break.  MOH invite was completely filled out, stampled, and sealed. It just needed him to write the new address on it when I emailed it to him from work.  I sort of forgot to give him the address right away (my fault).  So two days ago he asks me where her invite is.  He  doesn't remember me ever giving it to him and he can't find it anywhere.  He must have mailed it sans label!  And since the return address was on the label...no way to get it back.Anyway, glad to hear your FMIL go it right the first time!

Oh jeez!!! I hate when stuff like that happens! Silly FI's...I'm with HK, only assigned things, very clearly laid out and described for my FI...

Good idea. And definitely NO more communicating information... that was my mistake. I should have just talked to his mom myself. We get along great, so there was no reason to rely on FI for the info!
