Tasting tomorrow!

My fiance and I are going to our tasting tomorrow.  We are going with Perfect Host through Mintahoe for several reasons-1. 3 sons was really slow in their communication-like it took 3 weeks for them to get back to me on just a proposal!  2. My fiance has played too many gigs with D'Amico and is not overly impressed-I know many people swear by them, but I think he has just had too much!!So my question is: what are some things that I should ask??  We are planning on doing stations-heavy stations.  I am a vegetarian and my fiance basically is, although he will be trying some chicken stuff out.  We are also going to do a cake tasting too!!  Yummy!!Has anyone worked with this company?  Pros, cons?

I don't have any recommendations, but we're using Mintahoe as well. We just got a notice about their open house next month. There will be food tasting there, too. If you want the details, let me know and I can forward them to you! Also, I'd love to hear how the tasting goes since we haven't tried their food yet.

All I can remember asking was what the most popular items were. We brought pen and paper to take notes, I'd recommend that if you're tasting a lot of different foods.I think the most important part of the tasting is really just to try the different foods and see what's good :-).Hope you have fun!

I would bring along a digital camera and take pics.It will be easier to remember what you ate and what you liked.I would also recommend taking detailed notes.Tasting wine is a good idea.

We did know about the open house and she said that it would be the 'chef favorites'-which tend to be meaty stuff-which is cool, except I wouldn't eat any of it!!  We are actually getting a private tasting which is really nice...We were able to request what we would like to taste.   Great idea with the camera!

Report back on tasting-  The food was really good and the vendor is willing to work with us on some things. For instance, one of the pasta sauces was a bit bland for my personal taste so she suggested roasted garlic cloves-YUM!!  Not to mention our consultant also got married in the caves, so that is really helpful!  My FI decided to have a late lunch-at 3:00-our tasting was at 4!!  What a dork...at any rate, the tasting was more like a smorgasbourg!!!  SOOOOO much food, and of course he wasn't hungry.  I felt a bit guilty because there was so much food left over.At any rate-good experience and I love that she is willing to work with us.  One question-my FI is really kinda "whatever" with the photographer and food...he is focusing on the music and booze.  What does one do with a 'whatever' fiance?!

Silly question - Did you have to take time off work for your tasting? I've just recently started working with Mintahoe and I'm having trouble getting them to work with my schedule.
