Brainerd weddings?

Has anyone gotten married or are going to be married in the Brainerd area?  We're going to be married up near Cross Lake, MN and would love suggestions on wedding planners, bakers, or any vendors for that matter! Any help is appreciated!

    Three photographers to look into are Tim Larsen, Vada, and Maple Leaf. I don't know many other vendors, but Tim Larsen sometimes posts vendor links in his blog posts...

    Yup! I am originally from Brainerd and was just married there 09.19.09! Do you have a venue already? The only wedding planner in the area that I know of is a business called "Social Butterfly" in Baxter. I met with her but she was already booked for my day. Can't offer any help with bakers because I made mine myself. We did flowers from Cub Foods in Brainerd and got a great deal (The florist who works there has been doing flowers for 30+yrs!)     We do have a venue, we're getting married at the church at Camp Foley on Whitefish Lake, the reception will follow in their dining hall. It's a summer camp so they only have a few weddings there a year so some stuff has to be rented and brought in.  Luckily the head of the camp was able to recommend a caterer (that we're going with) a  florist, and a baker, but I just wanted to do my homework- I'm learning some people don't have websites and it's making it difficult to check in to these people/places!  I've heard Lime Greenery does a good job and we're meeting with the person there and a planner she works with (PJ I think?), so maybe they can help more too! Thanks for the response!

    I'm getting married November 14th in Brainerd!!  Wedding is at Lord of Life in Baxter, and reception at Grandview Lodge.  I looked into a lot of other places before we decided of there. We are getting our cake at Brainerd Lakes Cakes.  They have been great so far.  I think I have checked into every florist/baker/DJ/photographers in the area, so let me know if you have any questions.  I know how helpful it is to talk with other people who have recently been through it so let me know!!

    Hi all!  Thanks for the suggestions.  I'm starting to plan our wedding for outside of Brainerd at Presbyterian Clearwater Forest, the summer camp where my fiance and I met.  We live in Austin, TX, now so we're doing long distance planning and it's REALLY stressing me out even though our date isn't for another TWO YEARS!
    Does anyone have any DJ suggestions for the area or know where to get a good deal on renting large tents?
