Anyone know of where I could find one? And about how much it will cost me? We should only need him/her for about an hour or so. FI's sister and brother are both deaf, I hope that it will be a nice gesture for them during the ceremony. TIA
I know that Saint Paul has adult educations classes and that sign language is one of the courses offered. Maybe you could ask one of the instuctors if they could or if they could recommend someone.
I just asked my coworker, she says her favorite interpreting agency is aslis.com. She said depending on the interpreter $100-$300 a day. If you'd like, you can email me for her personal info for a referral. smorrisoart @ gmail
I know someone who is an interpreter and does side work as well. Both of her parents are Deaf, so she has personal as well as an interpreting degree. I can pass your information to her, let me know if you are interested.
I am fluent in ASL. Try asking a student at a local college to do it. If you are tight on money, this would be something which would still be inexpensive.
When you love someone, you can tell. When you're in love with someone, everyone else can tell.
UW-River Falls has a Communicative Disorders department that I remember they had ASL interpreters who would frequently hire themselves out to do weddings on the side after taking the class. Unfortunately I don't remember the professor's name who runs the class, but here's the dept. info..Department of Communicative Disorders B31 Wyman Education Building(715) 425-3801
