I'm planning to make our invitations and I'm thinking about printing the invitation part on some ivory paper and then glue it to brown cardstock...what adhesives work the best? and ones to stay away from are good to know too Thanks!
My dad works for 3M so we got all our double stick tape for free! Even if we didn't, I swear by that stuff and would buy it. We tried both the purple pen-like dispensers with small tape and the normal yellow rolls, and I found the tape on the roll held MUCH better. I don't reccomend the purple dispenser but higly reccomend that regular double stick tape rolls! Good luck with the invites!
I like using the photo square double sided adhesives that they sell for scrap-bookers at craft stores. They dispense as little squares and are much quicker and easier to use then rolls of tape.
I used Stardream paper and they recommended using Tombo adhesive. If I had to do it over again, I would probably do something different on our pockets because some popped loose but everything else stuck well. They have 2 "strengths" of adhesive, super and regular.
Please avoid any kind of liquid glue! We got what we thought was some very nice 3M liquid glue and applied it lightly. However, it was lumpy when it dried :-(.
I also used the double sided tape, but my mom got a 10 pack from Sam's (I think it was scotch brand) and it has held just fine. I would not recommend using any kind of glue, go for the tape!
