Videographer?

I'm not sure if we should hire a videographer or not since we are trying to save money. But I've heard that lots of people regret not having one? Does anyone know of any good ones and about how much they cost? Or if it's worth it or not? I have no idea what to do.
Has anyone had a friend use a personal camcorder to shoot video?

    We found our videographer on Craigslist.  She owned her own business and normally shot documentaries, but wanted to get into the wedding business.  She was super reasonable ($300), which most of the ones on Craigslist are.  I would pass you her info, but she relocated to California after our wedding in September.  I think it was worth it...it's kinda nice to be able to look back and watch a DVD of the wedding day, instead of just looking at pictures.  Our DVD is our wedding ceremony, snippets of our reception and snippets of me and my bridal party getting ready.  No regrets here, I'm glad we had one.

    My photographers company "Maria Hall Photography" just started offering videography (sp). They can do the whole event or just clips. They used our wedding as a sample. And I believe it's fairly reasonable.

    I busted my wedding budget to have a videographer. It was something I had to have. I went with Prodigy Cinema. Nathan is a little pricey, but does a really awesome job. If you go websites most videographers have pricing and videos to view. I just googled, and found Prodigy and several others.
