Duluth and Bayfield would be really pretty that time of year. Have you ever looked at homeaway.com for house rentals? They're typically cheaper than hotels (if you have a big group) and you can usually cook your own food and bring your own drinks of course.I also love Hayward, WI. Really cute cabin town.Good luck looking!

Stillwater would be really fun!  It's super close, there's wineries (check the hours though- the one downtown Stillwater is open later than the others outside of downtown are), and lots of fun places/bars/shopping to go!  Not only that, but if you have a big crew you could rent transportation if you did a Saturday night only deal- even a big van from a cab company would probably fit 10 people easily and wouldn't be too expensive.  Otherwise I'm sure you could get a good deal at some of the hotels in the area, I don't think it's peak season anymore!  Have fun!

I went to Breezy Point for a bach party once- it was a blast.  We spent the entire weekend in a huge house together & went out all dressed up one night.  Good luck!

We went to the Renaissance Festival in Shokopee this past September.  It was a blast!  It's the perfect excuse to act a little crazy and drink some ale.  Plus, there's comedy shows, fortune tellers (I did this and highly recommend it...it was a hoot!), arts and crafts, etc.  Also near Shokopee are Valley Fair, Canterbury Downs, horseback riding...it's a fairly fun town.

This totally depends on your definition of driving distance - but Chicago is always a fun time!

Since I just re-read your post and your talking next year Sept. and not right now, Breezy is a great idea too!  That or Crosslake (which isn't far from Breezy) has a few lodges you could stay at or you could all rent a cabin!  There's fun shopping over in Nisswa and Pequot lakes (about 30 min away), there's also and Aveda concept salon you could do some pampering at, then go out in Crosslake to Zorbaz, The Wharf, and Moonlight Bay!  You could even rent a pontoon during the day if you wanted!

Thanks ladies! Yea we would likely leave on Friday and come back Sunday so Chicago might be a possibility if I can talk them into leaving earlier on Friday. I just want a place where we can all be together for the whole weekend.

srose2329- I have totally been to Zorbas and Moonlight! One of my BMs has a cabin right up on Crosslake so we have gone up there quite a few times. She is also getting married 2 weeks after me, so I would hate to go there when it is kind of her spot - but it is a great place!

We rented this cabin in Wabasha - http://www.vrbo.com/240332Wabasha is a cute little town about an hour and a half away from MSP.  We all went out one night and it was a BLAST.  The locals didn't know what hit them, ha.
