Damask

Hi Everyone-I'm wondering if anyone knows of a place that sells a large variety of Damask. I would like to do my card box with a Damask print, and found black and white at Michaels, but would really love a deep purple if I could find it. I don't have a preference in what it is, like cloth, wrapping paper, regular paper, I'm willing to be flexible. I just don't even know if it exists in dark purple, or if I should just do black. TIA!!!

Another knottie on here (Bimbi) stenciled her aisle runner so I'm sure you could make your own card box by  using stencils and buying the color paint or ink that you like. Otherwise it might be easier to do your wedding in a black and white damask and use dark purple as an accent, that would be really pretty! We are doing that but with a light yellow. For example, you could have a damask table runner with a purple satin square on top of it for your tables.

Dont know if this will help (it is in brown too) but I just saw it posted on the DIY board.http://www.i-do-it-yourself.com/2009/01/mujkas-free-printable-damask-invitation-set/ You could download the invitation set and just crop out the damask you wanted...again not sure if it will help but figured I would send it along.

I think black and white damask with dark purple accents would be beautiful...but that's the color scheme I used for my wedding so I might be biased :) I think purple damask would be great, but if you were planning on using it on more than just the card box I would be concerned about finding different damasks in the right shade of purple. It could end up being a headache.

THanks Ladies! Those are all greats tips, advice, etc! I do have a damask print on my invitations, so maybe I'll try to stencil that onto a card box somehow. I have tons of time (wedding isn't until July) but I wanted to start thinking of ideas, as I think THAT will take the most time!!

I was just at Paper Depot tonight and they have this really thick paper that is like wall paper and it's all rolled up so you can cut out the length you need. I think it would be perfect for your card box! The coloring in the picture is kinda funky but it's a really deep purple background and a lighter purple velvet damask pattern.
